HTB and ATM patch
Hi all,
I patch my kernel (2.6.17) and my tc (iproute2-2.6.18-061002) utilitie for
an accurate packet scheduling on an ATM link.
I configure my HTB hierarchy on the upload of the link and try with
differents flows.
It works correctly but in some of case I lose about 50% of my bandwith.
I use the overhead (42) configuration for my link (PPPoE, VC/LLC) indicate
in the documentation.
My question

Patch accurate packet scheduling for ATM/ADSL
Hi,
I use the patch
(http://ace-host.stuart.id.au/russell/files/tc/tc-atm/) for accurate
the packet scheduling on ATM/ADSL link and i think I''ve found a bug.
I tried to write to the author but he didn''t answer me.
I work on a Linux 2.6.17 with the iproute2-2.6.18-061002 package.
I change the type of the cell_align char to short of the struct
tc_ratespec in the file pkt_sched.h

[PATCH 2/2] Runtime configuration of HTB''s HYSTERESIS option (userspace)
The HTB qdisc has a compile time option, HTB_HYSTERESIS,
that trades accuracy of traffic classification for CPU
time. These patches change hysteresis to be a runtime
option under the control of "tc".
The effects of HYSTERESIS on HTB''s accuracy are significant
(see chapter 7, section 7.3.1, pp 69-70 in Jesper Brouer''s
thesis: http://www.adsl-optimizer.dk/thesis/ ),

Kernel Packet Traveling Diagram
Hi,
I find this diagram which details the kernel packet traveling :
http://www.docum.org/docum.org/kptd/
Is it up to date ?
I made some test and I put a DNAT rules in the PREROUTING table of an
interface and I attach it a ingress policy, the dst IP wasn''t changed. the
DNAT it isn''t yet make.
I''ve another question (I''m not sure is it the good mailing list), for

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Extended acls with AD - problem with default/herited permissions
Edouard,
No, that won't work for you. "inherit acls" is intended for posix ACL's.
Since you are using Windows ACL's, try setting the
permissions/inheritance you want from a Windows system.

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Extended acls with AD - problem with default/herited permissions
Hello Dale,
Set inherit acls = yes locally to my share groups, and remove map acl
inherit = yes from global parameters of smb.conf does not solve my issue.
I still have acl "Domain Users" added to new folders/files.
As i write in my previous email, the only way i found to disable acl
"Domain Users" to be added was with :
inherit owner = yes
With some disavantages for users

Fwd: Extended acls with AD - problem with default/herited permissions
Hello Dale,
I set map acl inherit = yes in global parameters of smb.conf
and set inherit owner = yes locally to my share "groups" of smb.conf
I have followed the wiki
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs
It is indicated :
"To configure shares using extended access control lists (ACL), you must
enable the support in the |smb.conf| file. To enable

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
Is it possible to make start DOMAIN range from 500 instead of 10000 ?
I realized that all my gid are in range 500 to 600 and not in range
10000 - 14999
I thought? DOMAIN range 10000 - 14999 was reserved for DOMAIN users

Samba winbind on redhat 7
Hello,
I am facing 2 issues now.
The first one is the more critical for me...
1. When I switch from sssd to winbind with :
# authconfig --enablekrb5 --enablewinbind --enablewinbindauth
--enablemkhomedir --update
My sftp access did not work. Does it change the way to pass the login ?
I used to connect in sftp with userlogin / userpassword
//var/log/secure ://

Interleave cells with IP over ATM?
Anyone know if it''s possible to interleave two IP packets when using
PPPoA and VC based lines? Can it be done with any PPPoE implementations?
The goal is to reduce the delay when you have a high priority packet
waiting, but a lower priority (large) packet already started going out
ahead of this packet. I don''t want the overhead of much smaller MTU,
which is the other way

Samba winbind on redhat 7
My idea is to replace default "cifs_idmap_sss.so" plugin by "idmapwb.so"
winbind plugin, in order to SSSD becomes a client of winbind.
To avoid to change nsswitch.conf :
passwd:???? files sss
shadow:???? files sss
group:????? files sss
into
passwd:???? files winbind
shadow:???? files winbind
group:????? files winbind
because I need an other access in sftp, this is using

Fwd: Extended acls with AD - problem with default/herited permissions
Edouard,
These are the 4 available parameters containing the word "inherit".
inherit acls (S)
inherit owner (S)
inherit permissions (S)
map acl inherit (S)
Would "inherit acls" work for you?

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
Hello,
I performed a test in order to get access to my samba share with
winbindd (and not sssd).
For that,
1. I change the gid of domain users from 513 to 15513 (to match with the
domain range 10000 - 14999)
And verify my test user is part of 15513
2. Stop sssd and change nsswitch.conf like this :
/passwd:???? files winbind//
//shadow:???? files//
//group:????? files //winbind//
/
