Parantheses highlighting
Dear list, is it just me or is everybody experiencing this? Since the upgrade to R 2.13.0 on my Mac (OS X 10.6.7, R GUI 1.40 (5751)) the highlighting of matching parantheses doesn't work the way it used to. It doesn't highlight the matching parantheses while typing, but it still does while scrolling over it with the cursor with the arrow keys. This is quite inconvenient since I have to go

Function "Varcov" in Design (Ver. 2.2-0) package
Hi, I'm running into an error message for the "anova"-function I never got before with the Design (Version 2.2-0) package. There seems to be a missing function "Varcov", please check my function calls (it's in german but I think you get the error): > library(Design) ## attaching Design package and dependent packages Lade n?tiges Paket: Hmisc ## loading

Hello list, I seem to have a problem with the openNLP package, I'm actually stuck in the very beginning. Here's what I did: > install.packages("openNLP") > install.packages("openNLPmodels.de", repos = "http://datacube.wu.ac.at/", type = "source") > library(openNLPmodels.de) > library(openNLP) So I installed the main package as

legend() graphics output bug (PR#5725)
Full_Name: Daniel Gasser Version: 1.8.1 OS: Win XP Submission from: (NULL) (130.60.20.92) The legend()-Function shows a different behaviour than it did in Version 1.6.1. It plots a black box left of the legend lines on each legend row. In 1.6.1 there was just the line in appropriate color for each row in the legend (i was using exactly the same legend statement and same plot function). My legend

legend with multiple columns
I have made a minor hack to "legend" (in R 1.0.0, but I didn't notice any changes to legend in the 1.0.1 NEWS) to allow the legend to be formatted in multiple columns, or horizontally (number of columns <- number of legend items). (I find this helpful when I have lots of legend items and not a lot of vertical space to squeeze the legend into.) (Another hack I've considered

Multiple symbols per single line in a legend
Hello everybody, Is it possible to coax legend() into displaying more than one simbol per line in legend? I have a graph like the one attached to this mail; I would like to reorganize the legend in such a way that the duplicate text would be omitted, i.e., the first line would read <square> <triangledown> "increasing frequency" and the second one would read <circle>

barplot can put legend in wrong place, request option to override that (PR#13265)
This in an enhancement requestion, to add the capability to pass arguments through barplot() to legend(). I've created a version that does this. # Run this code; notice that the legend # is superposed over one bar: barplot(height = cbind(x = c(465,91) / 465 * 100, y = c(840,200) / 840 * 100, z = c(37,17) / 37 * 100), beside = FALSE, width =

Plotting horizontal dendrograms
I am using hclust and plot to produce dendrograms. Using my input data I am able to complete an analysis and obtain a vertical plot. I want to be able to plot the dendrogram horizontally.I am using version 2.6 of R and have updated my packages recently. Using the sample script for dendrograms I can produce a horizontal plot using the instruction horiz = TRUE in plot(). When I use the same

Re: Bar plot with variable width (down a drill hole) - now missing intervals?
Hi again, Thanks Ted and Marc its works. But of course after pulling in in some real life data I discoverd one hitch. Often there are missing intervals. For example: from <- c(0, 1.2, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0, 25.0, 30.1, 45) to <- c(1.2, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0, 25, 30.1, 36.2, 50) intensity <- c(0, 1, 3, 2, 1, 0, 2, 5) barplot(intensity, width = -(to - from), space = 0, horiz = TRUE, ylim =

subject: horizontal text in barplot
I have a problem with the ylabs in barplot. When I draw the bars horizontal the text for the y axis is not drawn horizontal too. The text remains vertical. How can I change that. Thank's for your advice. There is an example below. ##Example plot.new() jib <- data.frame(c(1:15),c(11:25),c(15:1),c(25:11)) colnames(jib) <-

Horizontal stripplot
I have a plot similar to the following library(lattice) stripplot(1:15, rep(1:3, each=5)) In order to save space for a presentation, I would like to have horizontal strips instead of vertical. The argument 'horiz' turns the arguments around, but not the plot. The documentation for 'stripplot' ('xyplot'), 'panel.stripplot' and the FAQ do not seem to provide

Trying to get values to display on horizontal barchart
Hello, R 2.3.0 Windows XP I have spent quite a bit of time trying to resolve my problem below, which included a R site search. The "vertical bars" syntax below produces a vertical bar chart with the values displayed above each bar. I want to cast this graphic horizontally, but I have not been able to arrive at a suitable outcome. The best I have been able to do, using the second block

barplot: border color when stacked
Dear R-users, I am using R version 2.10.1 under windows. In a barplot, I want to mark one of the bars with a special border color. For example: barplot(c(3, 7, 11), border = c(NA, "red", NA)) But how to do this when the bars are stacked? for example: barplot(matrix(1:6, ncol=3)) # border of second bar (i.e. the one with total height = 7) should be red again, I try: barplot(matrix(1:6,
