[Bridge] VLAN translation + PVST+
Hello, I am creating a configuration where a Redhat server running
bridge-tools 0.9.5 will be bridging between different VLANs on the same
physical interface (for example: a bridge consisting of eth1.100 and
eth1.110). This physical interface is being connected to modern Cisco
switches running PVST+.
The Cisco switch does not like this configuration as the tags on its
BPDUs are being changed

trunk-tap.py - Script to bridge VLANs over a tinc vpn bridge
Hello,
I have been using tinc for quite a while now and am very pleased with it.
Thanks a lot to everyone involved in the project!
I am running a VMware ESXi server in a datacenter that provides some services for me.
The virtual machines are connected with different networks running on separated VLANs using VMware vSphere port groups.
In order to use the services from my home network, I had the

CentOS 5 + Quagga + SELinux
Hello All,
Does anyone happen to be running Quagga on CentOS 5 with SELinux in
enforcing mode?
Have you had to create SELinux policies or did it "just work" out of the
box?
(I'll get around to building this out on CentOS 6 as well.)
I'm simply trying to write my config (for the zebra daemon) and it can't be
written...

Quagga on Xen - Latency / Bandwidth?
I was wondering if anyone is running Quagga on Xen? What is
throughput/latency like?
Was looking for about a gig of mixed packet size BGP throughput.
Hardware is Opteron 4 Way Quad cores, was thinking paravirt with a
couple of dedicated cores and maybe the addition of Solarflare 10GB
Direct IO NICs might give the required performance level but I am
unsure. The other option is multi-queue Intel

Correct way to use quagga and shorewall
Hi,
I''ve setup quagga on a shorewall firewall server.
The only purpose for this is to use BGP to connect to a "peering platform" supplied by our data centre supplier.
There are some very large ISP''s (and other various providers including google) on this peering platform and connecting to it will speed up access to/from our services and hosted servers.
The physical

Simply IMQ
I''ve followed this list for quite a long time and have even posted a couple
of times. I used the early versions of IMQ from Devik (I think that was his
name), and it worked well. I only ever got the chance to implement it in my
test environment. I now need to implement it in my production environment.
My Linux core router has nine interfaces and has a 27 megabit connection to

[PATCH] IMQ vs. local traffic
Hello,
Some time ago I''ve read somewhere that local traffic in IMQ
could hung up the whole system but it was corrected long time
ago. So I was very surprised yesterday when it occurred not true.
While testing IMQ I''ve observed for some time that - if you tag
some local traffic with iptables both in pre- and postrouting -
kernel is hunging up. It is happening quite quick with

Weird custom type behaviour
Hey,
I have a very trivial parsedfile based type - http://pastie.org/311146

TC
Thanks for the very prompt reply.
I''ve been googling already for a few days now trying to understand how
bandwidth management works. I came to understand that TC is a utility
that I can use to shape up my local network bandwidth consumption.
Im hoping I will be guided here through.
Here are my questions:
1. Is TC works on an interface of a physical device only?
2. My objective is to

Fallback stream not preventing a disconnect
Dear Philipp,
I've compiled it from source on my raspberry pi, and replaced the binary
from the synaptic package manager with the compiled one. Everyting is
working fine now, it seems that there is indeed a "faulty" package in the
repository. I don't know who I should contact to get this fixed?
Anyway, it works, but while using ogg as output stream from mopidy, I get a
