XML for tc hierarchy representation
Hi list, I would like to know about any proposed XML representation for tc objects hierarchy. I found something at "LTCM, a Linux QoS API Library" (http://artemis.av.it.pt/~ltcmmm/) that looks like a start, but any others are welcome. I''m starting a project to automatically syncronize traffic shape rules between servers and thought XML is the best way to represent tc

ANNOUNCE: Linux QoS Library (LQL) 0.5.0
The Linux QoS Library (LQL) provides a GPL licensed, GObject based C API to manipulate the network queueing disciplines, classes and classifiers in the Linux kernel. LQL does not use the TC command as a back-end. Instead, LQL communicates with the Linux kernel via Netlink sockets the same way TC does. 0.5.0 2004-08-30 ----- * Initial public release. * I wanted to get 100% API doc coverage and a

A general view of the TC
Is there any library that i can hook on at runtime in order to create a qdisc dinamically from a program or if i want to do this I have to call the "tc" command? The disadvantage of calling the tc command from a process is that it creates an other process and this slows things up. Marius

tc + bandwidth measurement
I want to implement a snmp-agent to measure the bandwidth traffic per flow in a linux router. Is there any way to use tc in bash scripts in order to measure the bandwidth? In my first thought, the agent would fire repeatedly tc commands that would return the rate /flow. Is that speculation correct? Do you propose an alternative way to measure the bandwith through an agent. I found somewhere

Issue with using using tc api
Hi , I''m trying to call the tc_qdisc_modify function of tc in iproute2/tc. I could compile it with my stub program and got the executable. However, when i try to create an htb qdisc i get the following error : Unknown qdisc "htb", hence option "default" is unparsable However, if i use the tc tool, it works fine.. When I tried to understand the problem, it appeared to

Kernel Packet Traveling Diagram
Hi, I find this diagram which details the kernel packet traveling : http://www.docum.org/docum.org/kptd/ Is it up to date ? I made some test and I put a DNAT rules in the PREROUTING table of an interface and I attach it a ingress policy, the dst IP wasn''t changed. the DNAT it isn''t yet make. I''ve another question (I''m not sure is it the good mailing list), for

tc monitoring
I have managed to dynamically parse the output of commands: tc qdisc ls dev eth0 and tc -s class show dev eth0 Save statistics in an rrd database and display it via a php script. see http://143.233.4.215/graph.php and dload scripts from http://143.233.4.210/qos/ My next step in developing this monitoring software is to somehow manage to create a tree out of tc and then use it to greatly

Patch accurate packet scheduling for ATM/ADSL
Hi, I use the patch (http://ace-host.stuart.id.au/russell/files/tc/tc-atm/) for accurate the packet scheduling on ATM/ADSL link and i think I''ve found a bug. I tried to write to the author but he didn''t answer me. I work on a Linux 2.6.17 with the iproute2-2.6.18-061002 package. I change the type of the cell_align char to short of the struct tc_ratespec in the file pkt_sched.h

HTB and ATM patch
Hi all, I patch my kernel (2.6.17) and my tc (iproute2-2.6.18-061002) utilitie for an accurate packet scheduling on an ATM link. I configure my HTB hierarchy on the upload of the link and try with differents flows. It works correctly but in some of case I lose about 50% of my bandwith. I use the overhead (42) configuration for my link (PPPoE, VC/LLC) indicate in the documentation. My question

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Extended acls with AD - problem with default/herited permissions
Edouard, No, that won't work for you.  "inherit acls" is intended for posix ACL's. Since you are using Windows ACL's, try setting the permissions/inheritance you want from a Windows system. General help on sample size based on recurrent events
Hello, I have a general help question that some of you might be able able to help. I would like to design a study (a two group comparison) based on reduction on events(say hospital admissions). In a previous study hospital admission rate of 140 admissions per 72 patients (over a 4 month period) has been observed. That is rate is about 1.9. In order to see the admission rate reduction of 50% over

Data manipulation question
Dear R-listers, I am a relatively inexperienced R-user currently migrating from Stata. I am deeply frustrated by this data manipulation question: I know how I could do it in Stata, but I cannot make it work in R. I have a data frame of hospitalization data where each row represents an admission. I need to know when patients were first discharged, but the problem is that patients were sometimes

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Extended acls with AD - problem with default/herited permissions
Hello Dale, Set inherit acls = yes locally to my share groups, and remove map acl inherit = yes from global parameters of smb.conf does not solve my issue. I still have acl "Domain Users" added to new folders/files. As i write in my previous email, the only way i found to disable acl "Domain Users" to be added was with : inherit owner = yes With some disavantages for users

Survival analysis with no events in one treatment group
I'm trying to fit a Cox proportional hazards model to some hospital admission data. About 25% of the patients have had at least one admission, and of these, 40% have had two admissions within the 12 month period of the study. Each patients has had one of 4 treatments, and one of the treatment groups has had no admissions for the period. I used:
