server traffic control
Hi, Thank you very much for your replies. I have tried the ingrees - it didn''t work for me (probably bad configuration). But I''ll try to learn that later. I''m doing an N+ certification so it takes lots of my time atm. I have 2 additional questions if that isn''t a problem. Q1 : I''m trying to limit bittorrent traffic from my server. I have patched

Video drivers, bittorrent and Centos 5?
At home I have CentOS 4.4 running on a Compaq Presario with an ATI Radeon 200G video chipset. Naturally, the linux driver support ATI offers are pretty crappy, thus many postings to many web sites on problems and possible resolutions. I forget where, and natually I didn't bookmark it, but there was one web site that provided the exact working solution. From then on, my video support

bittorrent traffic controll
Hi, Anyone has an idea how to control the traffic from bittorrent comming to the server via layer7 ? I got it installed (kernel and iptables patched). But I have no idea how to control the incomming data via layer7. I know you can use iptables -A --samething-- -m layer7 --l7proto bittorrent -j MARK ?? or should I use CLASSIFY --set-class 1:10 for example Or should I use the -t mangle ?

BitTorrent
It seems like more efficient file transfer technology may be about as important to bringing video production and distribution to the masses as more efficient video compression. I'm wondering how much of a difference BitTorrent made in the downloads of the theora sample files. Is there a record of the number of downloads that were made, and the number of Gbytes that were sent from the server

CentOS 5.4 and BitTorrent
If I remember correctly, when version 5.3 was released, about 95% was made available by BitTorrent before the official release date, so that the entire file would be available as soon as possible after the release. Could the same be done this time? -- Yves Bellefeuille <yan at storm.ca> "Yves Bellefeuille: Eterna malvenkanto en UEA" -- Heroldo Komunikas, n-ro 389

Sorin, I recommend you stick to Transmission since it's in Base. I have however issued updated packages for Deluge in my nux-dextop repo if it helps you. Also check rtorrent out. Thanks for the correction. Transmission is indeed in EPEL, not Base. -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! My versions quite old but you can change the sort order to all of those things, the trackers etc are visible in the inspector. There's no columns, but it's not that kind of GUI. Did you try Transmission? You can install just the daemon (provided you wnat to access it from elsewhere) and access it through a neat web UI. Other interesting option is rtorrent if you like console-based apps. Btw, my OT: from Windows 7 to CentOS 6.6? WHY!!? I mean, I use CentOS everywhere I can for my server needs but I think that for a workstation Fedora could be a better fit - my 2cents.
