smbcacls cannot locate the object of a samba share
Hello smbcacls is not able to locate the object of a share. I've attached a copy of the smb.conf file and the debug output of the smbcacls command. Within XP/NT I'm able to get and set the acls with no problem. Got event 17 (Polarity Reversal)...
Can anyone tell me what this message means? Got event 17 (Polarity Reversal)... I'm running DAHDI 2.0 with a TDM401 card. Asterisk version 1.6.0. It appears that I get this Polarity Reversal each time an inbound call hangs up. This results in another ring, but no one is there. It appears as an unknown caller, but I believe its a phantom. Re: sieve/vacation: bad parsing of 'References' header
Hi Stephan Thank you for your reply. I'm using dovecot 2.2.9 packaged with ubuntu packages: dovecot-managesieved ?1:2.2.9-1ubuntu2.1 ? amd64 ? ? ? ?secure POP3/IMAP server - ManageSieve server dovecot-sieve ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 1:2.2.9-1ubuntu2.1 ? amd64 ? ? ? ?secure POP3/IMAP server - Sieve filters support If I'm not mistaken Pigeonhole is part of those packages. DAHDI - analogue, not seeing ringing (UK)
So made my first forray into 1.4 and DAHDI and hit a problem. (Not convinced this is a DAHDI issue though...) Testing an analogue line and asterisk sees the caller ID being passed, but then fails to detect ringing. A plain old analogue phone plugged in rings just fine. Console output: == Starting post polarity CID detection on channel 4 -- Starting simple switch on

Debugging "failed to start"
This app is frequently "failing to start". I''ve looked in the developement log and the fastcgi.crash.log and both have no help for the problem. Shouldn''t there be messages in the development log to help me diagnose the problem? Also I get this in the fastcgi.crash.log: [25/Nov/2005:15:36:12 :: 6662] starting [25/Nov/2005:15:36:24 :: 6663] starting

Passwords (of course)
hi I'm having problems with smbpasswd. OS: Linux (Kern 2.2.14) Smb: 2.0.7 Whenever a user trys to change their password with smbpasswd, I get the error: (127.0.0.1 rejected the session setup). The only explanation for this behaviour given in the FAQ is if you have specified machines in "hosts allow" and forgotten to include the localhost. I haven't specified any values for

Shadow passwords with SAMBA
hi all ... I was thinking that my password changing problems may have something to do with the fact that I'm using shadow passwords in my Debian system. I've noticed around the place that samba can be configured to include support for shadow passwords but haven't been able to find any detailed description of this. Does anybody know how this should be done? thanks Andrew

Terrible share access performance (v.4.8 and current master branch)
Hello! When I'm using qBittorrent [1] on Windows 10 with download location set to remote Samba share on Arch Linux then it severely affects all shares on that host, unrelated to disk where qBittorrent is actually writing. On Arch Linux that smbd process is using 100% of one CPU core time and seems it's blocking because of lseek calls. strace shows full of lseek(47, 1420820480,

[PATCH 0/5] renouveau: nv30/nv40 unification
This patchset applies some minor fixes to renouveau.xml and then unifies the nv30 and nv40 register definitions. nv30 and nv40 are very similar and have the same offsets for the registers they share. The major differences are: 1. Texture setup is different due to full NPOT support on nv40 2. More advanced blending/render targets on nv40 3. NV30 has fixed function registers, which NV40 lacks The

connecting to network remotely with pppd
Does anyone have any tips on getting hooked up to a local network from win95 client through a linux ppp server? I'm close to getting it working. I've logged on remotely and can ping or telnet to the linux ppp server but I cannot ping to any other machine on the local network. Do I need to add some route commands? This is what my routing table looks like after my ppp connection is started.

PGP On Centos
Hey I need to run some pgp commands, -what's the name of the package supported by Centos that will allow me to work with pgp? I need to run pgp --fingerprint key.name or it's equivalent. Pro question. Google searches didn't show much, tried to search for pgp, gnupg, openpgp, pgp on centos, openpgp on centos, centos/pgp. No worthy results came back. Any advice? -karlski
