XMLRPC Callbacks
Hi,
I''m currently developing an Enterprise Message Bus and our servers
deals, among others, with XMLRCP.
I''ve been playing with Ruby and its Ajax capabilities made me want to
create a web front end for our Bus.
I''m currently able to connect to the server but i don''t know how to
create callbacks that update a WebPage content!
Is this possible? If so, how ?

accessing form elements
Rails names its form fields as model[field] , but you can''t access the
value in javascript by document.form.model[field].value. How do you
escape the [''s to access the value?

So how can I rewrite my app without using with_scope?
So, I hear that with_scope is going to be deprecated.
Which is a bit of a shame, given the stuff I''ve been writing recently.
I have a CMS with multiple clients. A ''client'' is essentially a
company, with multiple users. Content on the site belongs to a client
- content could be messages, images, schedules, etc etc. People
belonging to one client should not be able

Calling FormOptionsHelper select method in controller
All,
I know that it is _wrong_ for me to do it, but I would like to know what
is the easiest way for me to call the select() method in
ActionView::Helpers::FormOptionsHelper from within a controller?
Thanks,
Wes

Parameters for FormOptionsHelper select vs. FormTagHelper select_tag
I must be missing something when it comes to the parameter differences
between form FormOptionsHelper select and FormTagHelper select_tag.
Code that follows, works perfectly -
<%= f.select :unit, units_to_select(@product), :size=>"20"%>
The following code, does not. The helper function never even seems to
be called.
<%= select_tag "unit",

Is there a list of html_options for the FormOptionsHelper?
I''m looking for a way to select a default value from a select box, like
this:
select("user", "role_id", Role.find_all.collect {|r| [ r.name, r.id ] },
{ :default_value => ''5'' }
(of course, there is no ":default_value")
If the form is being used on a ''create'' page, it should display a
default in the select box. If

FormOptionsHelper select call failing
In Rails 0.14.3, I''m doing the following in a view:

I have a few other fields, textboxes, etc. within the form. When I go
to save the info, the textboxes all save with their content, but the

Select Enumerated Values with FormOptionsHelper
Hey,
I''m new, so apologies if I''ve overlooked obvious resources or violated
any etiquette rules for this list.
Since rails does not support the MySQL enum data type, I''m following
David''s advice of using a varchar and storing the valid values in the
application:
http://one.textdrive.com/pipermail/rails/2005-January/001536.html
So here''s my

What to use in params[:name]
I am using the auto complete components in Rails, and if I look at the
generated source I see that the id is model_field and the name is
model[field]. Given that i am evaluatin params individually , and not
part of one form variable, which should I use to call that value with
params[:name], model_field or model[field]?
Thanks for your help and time,
Ben

HABTM Movable Select Box
Hi,
I found it a while ago, an add-on to Rails for supporting movable select
boxes, but I searched through the wiki and the mailing list and couldnt
find what I was looking for. I was hoping someone might know of or
remember something about the project.
Thanks,
Dylan.

[PATCH 0/5] various improvements for make-template.mk
Hi,
this series improves the generation of Debian templates, automating
basically almost all the steps needed.
Also, it fixes the generation of aarch64 images with NVRAM, which is
currently removed too soon, and thus not saved and compressed.
Thanks,

non model select_tag problem
What am I doing wrong here:
select_tag(''website_ids[]'',
options_from_collection_for_select(Website.find_all, ''id'', ''name'',

It works fine except that it does not display the selected options once
the form is submitted (it submits to the same page). The

In-place editor for a whole form?
I want to implement in-place editing for a hierarchical structure where
the nodes are not simple text fields, but need to be represented by at
least two input elements.
The Rails helpers only support in-place editing for a text field,
scriptaculous''s controls.js beyond that implements support for an
in-place editor containing a select element. I need an editor where I

Noob Question: Problems with FormOptionsHelpers
Hi!
I have problems to see existing values in several FormOptionsHelpers..
(text_area or select for example):
<% @models.each do |model| %>
<% form_for "model", model, :url => { :action => :update } do |f| %>
<%= f.text_field :name %> // works
<%= text_area "model", "text" %> // doesn''t work...
<%= select
