Help with traffic control (HTB ESFQ RED)
Hello, there''s a problem I''ve had for several months now, and I''ve never
been able to find an answer to it. I''ll try to explain as quick as possible:
I have a server that controlls my home network, it provides internet
to them also (NAT) and I would like to provide QoS by shaping traffic. I
have a p2p server here (running mldonkey), since only that

Divide bandwidth between 4 groups of ip with the same rate
Hello, I have begun to use the tc scripts since 2 weeks ago, so I am beginner. I am trying to divide my bandwidth in 4 independent ones. Each of these sub-bandwidths is assigned to 4 different groups of ip. Bandwidth sharing is allowed. I put a Linux with two Ethernet card between the router and the LAN. Eth1 is the card connected to the router and eth0 is the one connected to the LAN. My ISP

Big problem :(((((
Hello!
I have an internet connection of 64kbps garanteed in a channel of 256kbps. On this connection the metropolitan speed is 10Mbps and in the provider''s network the speed is 100Mbps.
I have a few clients behind my linux box and i want to set up some limitations because some of them are using it irrational.
I am marking the packets with 0 for internet; 1 for metropolitan 2 for

Fwd: Traffic Shaping on a Transparent Bridge not working!
I''m trying to shape traffic on a Devil-Linux box.
This note was originally sent to their maillist,
because the LARTC list appears to have been down
for the past few days. My mailbox was just flooded
with a half dozen or so confirmation requests in response
to my repeated attempts to subscribe to this list.

tc and iptables trouble
Hi all
I have a trouble configuring the qdiscs, when I indicate the "perturb 10" option to tc, i gives me this error:
tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 5:1323 handle 1323 sfq perturb 10
RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument
if I don''t put the "perturb 10" option, it works.
another question is about iptables, when I indicate the " --set-mark" option:
iptables -t

HTB Rate and Prio (continued)
Hi again,
I keep posting about my problem with HTB ->
http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2005q3/016611.html
With a bit of search I recently found the exact same problem I have in the
2004 archives with some
graphs that explain it far better than I did ->

Making tcp start transfers slow
Hey list
I have almost gotten my shaping setup up and running as planned. The
last barrier seems to be tcp overshooting availible bandwidth when its
starting a transfer, and thereby bursting the line, so ping rises for a
moment. At least this is my best guess at the problem :)
There is a possibility that its just plain old traffic being bursty for
some reason.. I am using bittorrent to test this,

I gave up.-...-.-.-.- :''(
Actually i gave up, i tried and tried and tried so many times, upgrading software falling back to an old version
but it didn''t work, that''s it.
i can''t do work together tc with iptables and iproute2
when i mark a packet with iptables tc doesn''t recognize them so it falls at the default leaf of the tc''s tree
what i like is to mark packets depending on

I have a setup where my linux box has multiple broadband connection where I am routing certain things over certain interfaces, currently 2 links eth2 is a 1500/256 and eth3 is a 512/512, eth0 is the link to the LAN for users. What I am trying to do is traffic shape the information going out eth0 to the local users by the interface the traffic arrived

I found a script made in perl, that can to graph my 4 class, but i need to
know which IP address on my LAN are using the bandwidth too, in other hand i
need to classify the traffic by IP to show.
This is an out of my

//Just to not forget eth0 is WAN and eth1 is LAN . The box is NATing my lan.
I configured tcng to shape both download and upload

Maybe it is my script fault or it is something bad with packets marking .
this is how i mark outgoing packets

Libvirt "tc ingress qdisc" automatically removed by ovs vlan tag setting, how?
With outbound QoS setting in Libvirt XML, libvirt will add a tc
ingress qdisc for traffic shaping. Then if you set VLAN tag to that
tap device, this qdisc will automatically gone by no reason.
Could anyone shed some lights where should I look into? I'm really
confused and got no clue here. Thanks!
