Fw: VPN setup problem - proxy arp I think
Hi all, I read the setup at http://www.blackh0le.net/articles/vpn-dun-howto.html to setup my VPN. However, I'm having a problem which I think is proxy-ARP not working. I like to ask you to see if you know what's going on. When I ping 10.77.1.1 from windows XP machine the packets get to the 10.77.1.1 machine, but they don't have a return path to get back. When I do ping the windows

IP Tunneling
Hello I have /25 addressed on a box (virtual devices on eth0) and I want to tunnel some of these addresses to my home network. One address to my gateway (a.b.c.d, external IP) and one address to my internal network (192.168.0.0/24-style). I will use the tunnels for irc, smtp and surfing. What protocol and which technique is easiest and best to use? One more thing. I don''t want to set up

Openvpn routing problem
Hi, I posted this question yesterday on the Openvpn mailing list, with no response, figured I will ask here too. I have been using openvpn for quite a while, no major problems encountered. Now I need to allow the server to access the lan of the client, and I can not figure out the routing. This is what I have after the tunnel is brought up: SERVER (A.A.A.A) Arx:~# ip addr ... 3: eth1:

Pinging win from FreeBSD
Hello Samba folks, I thought you might be able to help me. I have 2 machines, 1 is FreeBSD, 1 is win95. They can't ping each other, but the bsd box comes up in Network Nieghborhood when Samba is active. What's going on? Is it not possible to ping a windows machine from a unix box? They are on the same hub via UTP. IPs are 192.168.1.x and netmasks are same (255.255.255.0).

Hello all, Yesterday I noticed that my system was "leaking" traffic towards the 10/8 network, I have shorewall installed on multiple machines ranging from single interface devices to ones with 10+ interfaces. I tested all the boxes and they are showing the same behavior. All systems are CentOS 3.4, 2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp. Shorewall version: 2.2.1 For the host mentioned is a single

2 adsl links (same P-t-P) on the same machine
Hi... I have 2 ADSL lines (ppp0 and ppp1) on the same machine, and at first moment, I just want to make them both ping correctly from the internet. I already setup 2 links on the same machine, following the item 4.2.1 (split access) of the LARTC-HOWTO. I guess it was one dial-up link and one ADSL. But now, I have two ADSL lines, both from the same provider, and both lines use the same P-t-P

Latest techniques for multiple PPP load-balancing
Hey, I''ve been scouring the web these past few days trying to find a suitable technique to load balance my network. Unfortunately I think my setup is very uncommon, so I''m looking to you guys to see if you can help. I currently have 2 ADSL modems, provided by the same ISP and terminating on the same gateway (I think having the same gateway is what is causing the problems, since

Problem with multiple ISP''s
I have a setup with two Internet providers. One circuit (net0 == eth1) is used primarily for employees and tunnels to other sites. The other (net1 == eth2) is for the production machines that customers access. Advice on vlans and pppoe
My telco is moving to feeding me over fiber, breaking out with a media converter to one Ethernet interface. At present, I am retaining the static feed over copper on eth0, and taking the two new feeds via vlans on eth1. I have configured the static IP feed on eth1:790 as vlan 790, and that seems to be fine, and eth1:780 as the PPPOE feed, and brought up PPPOE to give me an IP, that is

Shorewall, PPTP VPN, and Samba
What I''m doing: I have Shorewall on a SuSE 9.0 machine, which is the firewall/router on the network. External interface is eth0 172.16.1.1, internal interface is eth1 10.40.1.1. (I used the Two-interface Linux System Quickstart Guide). All works well with that configuration. I also use PPPD for dial-in clients, and have two modems for incoming calls. Recently I added VPN interface

I''ve downloaded the 2.4.0 Stable release yesterday and tried the RC2 since a week. My config is a Debian running a kernel 2.4.27 home made with the CONNMARK.diff patch applied I''m using 2 ISP,
