dynamic PBR, actions, docs and getting it all straight
Hi, Fair warning this may be a bit rambling, and is definitely a bit long. I am trying to prototype a system for doing dynamic policy-based routing (source address dependent based on reverse routes from BGP or other dynamic routing protocols.) We need to do this due to a cacophony of factors I won''t get into. To do so the general plan is to store dynamic routes in their own table,

Installing SYSLINUX in PBR, not MBR?
Hi. Are there any gotchas to installing SYSLINUX in the PBR of a partition, and not the MBR of the overall hard drive? The reason I want to do this, is to take my "PXE-on-a-disk" project, and install it simply into one very small (1MB or so) FAT16 partition. ftp://ftp.scyld.com/private/jlehan/pxe-on-a-disk.html This partition would be placed near the very beginning of the drive.

EBTables, iproute, etc.
Good morning, I''m writing to ask for collaboration in finding an improvement to a particular process. Today: To get traffic for our IDS sensors and a billing system, we collect everything at our core switches (2) by connecting a SPAN port from each switch to a server (so, 2 interfaces collecting traffic). That server changes the destination MAC address on all traffic to that of

iproute with iptables/mangle
Hi List, i have a realy strange problem with no solution yet, i''m using iproute together with the iptables mangle option, in a dmz network is a cisco pix present with another inet link behind, therefore i''m using the mangle option to split traffic on a protocol base like: iptables -A PREROUTING -t mangle -i eth1 -s 192.168.1.5 -p tcp --dport 80 -j MARK --set-mark 3 and add the

TC not recognising "mirred" argument
Hi All, I''m trying to do some traffic shaping with IFB. I have installed Ubuntu 6.0.6 and upgraded to the 2.6.17.7 kernel. I have an ifb0 device. However, I think I may have the wrong version of TC installed, because it doesn''t like the ''mirred'' argument. What version of iproute should I be using, and how can I upgrade it? apt-get update iproute
