Split access multi-route problem - need help.
Hello,
Am writing to the list in the hope that someone out there might be able
to shed some light on a weird problem I have with a multiple route
configuration.
Some time ago I configured a web server to have two different IP
addresses from two different ranges on each of it''s two ethernet cards.
I followed the excellent instructions at
http://lartc.org/lartc.html#AEN268 and came up

Single bandwidth pipe
Hi all,
Can someone help me in creating a single bandwidth
pipe out of two or more bandwidth providers.
Say, I have 2 internet connections
1) 128 K
2) 128 K
I want to use both of them on a single linux box.
Is there any way to do so.
Of course loadbalancing can be done, but I don''t want
loadbalancing. I want to have a single pipe of 256 K.
Some time back I was suggested to use squid on

Help required with NLME syntax
Hi there,
I am attempting to analyse data from a crossover study using a mixed
effect Emax model in R using nlme. I am having problems ascertaining how
to fit the model.
Subjects are randomly assigned to 1 of 4 treatments in a complete block
design. The response variable of interest is recorded once within each
period. So, subjects have a response for each period.
Specifically, I want to fit

Error message doesn't make sense
Hi everyone,
I incidentally configured two IDE controller for my machine-1.2 VM(it
might be virsh attach-disk to blame), and I got the error message
"Only a single IDE controller is unsupported...". I can't understand
this error message, I think it means I HAVE to configure two or more
IDE controllers until I looked it up in the source.

DTMF not being heard correctly by far end conference system
Hi there
I have two different asterisk systems (both 1.4) whose dtmf tones are not being picked up by a particular conference system users are dialling into. I can call myself with the phones and hear the tones, but I am guessing perhaps they are too short or somehow different. I have looked and looked but can't nail down the reason. I don't believe this is a general issue, rather some

Given a freshly produced quantreg.Rcheck directory, I was able to
reproduce this crash by running

bug: sample( x, size, replace = TRUE, prob= skewed.probs) produces uniform sample
When `length( skewed.probs ) > 200' uniform samples are generated in R-devel.
R-3.5.1 behaves as expected.
`epsilon` can be a lot bigger than illustrated and still the uniform distribution is produced.

installing the next version of R while in an older version
Hello -
I am a fairly new user of R. I currently have R1.7 installed. I tried to
install the KernSmooth package but a message tells me I need R1.8. Is there
a way to update to R1.8 while in R1.7 in the same manner that I can use
"update.packages", or do I have to install R1.8 in a separate directory and
re-install the many packages I have already installed in R1.7? Thanks in

printer loss [susepro9.1]-mostly solved-samba the problem?
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions - the immediate problem is solved. I feel
that a monstrous weight has been lifted.
I tried the suggestions and the printer connection is back -
wonderful!!!!! what a relief!
I stopped the firewall and samba so it is one of them, or both which is
causing the problem?
I would vote for samba3 as the culprit because the printer loss occurred
on both machines on a 2
