Installing SYSLINUX in PBR, not MBR?
Hi. Are there any gotchas to installing SYSLINUX in the PBR of a partition, and not the MBR of the overall hard drive? The reason I want to do this, is to take my "PXE-on-a-disk" project, and install it simply into one very small (1MB or so) FAT16 partition. ftp://ftp.scyld.com/private/jlehan/pxe-on-a-disk.html This partition would be placed near the very beginning of the drive.

Patch for easier dynamic SAD PBR
Yesterday I posted a patch on the netdev list but it occurred to me that folks here might have more to say about the proposed feature (and a stake in it since it would add syntax to iproute) http://www.spinics.net/lists/netdev/msg49450.html Comments very welcome.

make a call based on SMS request
I worked on a project for Vodafone Australia that did exactly this. You sms'd a list of phone numbers to an automated 'conference number' 60 seconds later it called your phone back, and then all of the other numbers adding them into the conference call successively. I thought it was a great idea. Unfortunately the management at Vodafone thought it would be too confusing for their

chainloading syslinux problem
Hi! I have bootable (USB flash) disk, that _appears_ to be using syslinux. (the word syslinux is in the PBR, in the hexdump). How can I chainload it? The payload seems to be a file that I tried load with COMBOOT, COM32 etc, but nothing works (they report that the file is not in proper format, wrong magic number or simply crash). How to proceed? is there a 100% way to confirm that it is really

straight join in rails
Maybe someone will find this useful: I have a relatively complex (My)SQL query that results from having many many :conditions and :includes, and MySQL seems to apply a wrong join order so I wanted to force an order using the STRAIGHT_JOIN statement, but rails doesn''t really let you do it. Having to construct this query manually (there are 4 joins) and still have a right format for eager

I was wondering how can I insert straight xml, ie "<a>test</a>" inside the builder syntax. For example, i want to be able to do something like this xml.A do xml.B do "<a>test</a>" end end should give: <A> <B> <a> test </a> </B> </A> Anybody have a clue on this one? --

one extension goes straight to voicemail, others don't
i have one extension going straight to voicemail, while others that are configured identically don't, so i don't think it's an overall config problem. nor do i think it's a callerID problem. maybe it's an enduser operation that i can't find documentation on? che*CLI> -- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/48-1' -- Executing Macro("Zap/48-1",

Extension never ring, goes straight to VM
I installed a new * server and copied the sip.conf and extensions.conf from my existing setup to the new box. I created my outbound trunk with a different broadvoice account and am able to dial out without issue. I am able to dial all extensions but I go straight to voicemail without any ringing, this happens to both local and outside numbers calling my extensions. I have the correct firewall

No caller ID, straight to voicemail
Hi, I am having a problem with inbound calls (from a SIP VIOP provider). When caller ID information is not available, the calls go straight to voicemail. We are using a mix of either Sipura 841 phones or SPAs. When the call is passed to the phone/SPA, Asterisk reports "Got SIP Response 406 "Not Acceptable" back from..." I have searched a while now and can't seem to

Is there a straight forward way to associate login with imap process
Hi, Is there a way to associate a user's the login (imap-login) process with the user's 'imap [' process? We are trying to lock down an issue to make sure we full understand it. /proc and shared memory tools weren't particular useful. Just for context, we are having an intermittent locking index cache locking issue that appears to impact only a subset of our users. The

Postfix Ignoring lmtp, delivering straight to maildir
Looks like this is a dovecot problem after all. :) I can get Postfix to deliver to lmtp, but it's telling it to deliver to a fully qualified 'user at domain.tld' address. Postfix says that it can't find that user, and that turns out to be the case. dovecot: auth: Debug: master in: USER#0112#011user at domain.tld#011service=lmtp So I read up on that error, and it looked like I

Samba and trusted domains - need to get my story straight
Hello all, Samba 3.0.1 on Sun Solaris 5.9. I need to get my story straight before I ask the people with the necessary access rights to do the Samba setup. I would appreciate it if someone could validate my story below. Thanks! Simon. The situation: * There are 2 domains: - EMEA (PDC=EMEAD01,BDC=EMEAD02) - NLRESOURCES (PDC=NLRESOD01,BDC=NLRESOD02) * Users have accounts on the EMEA domain.

Straight-line fitting with errors in both coordinates
Hi All, I want to fit a straight line into a group of two-dimensional data points with errors in both x and y coordinates. I found there is an algorithm provided in "NUMERICAL RECIPES IN C" http://www.library.cornell.edu/nr/bookcpdf/c15-3.pdf I'm wondering if there is a similar function for this implemented in R. And how can I change the objective function, from example, from sum

[Q] How to fit data to a straight line
Dear R users I have a question about how to fit data to a straight line. I tried nls to do it, but it didn't work. The reason I want to fit data to a straight line is that I need to compare AIC or BIC values of the two models (a straight line model vs a nonlinear curve model). Fitting data to a nonlinear curve is straightforward, but I could not figure out how to fit the data to a straight
