conditional link_to_remote not re-rendering
I have an int, ''floorfrozen,'' in my table, ''channels'' that can take a
value of 0 or 1.
When I render a page, an image in a link_to_remote is called
differently depending what the value of channel.floorfrozen is, in a
partial, as follows:
<% if @channel.floorfrozen %>
<%= link_to_remote image_tag("/images/icecube.gif"), {:url =>

How to add hint to link_to_remote?
To add a hint to normal link is very easy:
link_to ''design'', {:action => ''design'', :id => survey}, :title =>
''Design the survey''
but, after trying several times, I still can''t figure out how to do the
same to link_to_remote. I''ve tried put :html => {:title => ''blah''}. It

link_to_remote, image_tag, mouseover is this possible?
Hi guys,
I was wondering if you are able to have a link_to_remote, having an
image_tag and the link_to_remote has a mouseover event that updates a
div. Does the image_tag need the mouseover event? I currently have:
<%= link_to_remote(image_tag(@p_image.public_filename(:thumb)), :update
=> "big_pic", :onmouseover => {:action => :color_change, :id =>
@p_image.id})%>

Hi-
I want to generate a link with an image embedded between the <a> and </
a> so when the user clicks on the image the ajax call fires. I can''t
find any documentation on how to do this with link_to_remote. Is this
possible? I''d like to generate something like:
<a href = ...> <img src = .../></a>
Thanks,

Additional link tag attributes with link_to_function...
Hi,
I''m having a bit of a struggle with link_to_remote. Everything works
exactly as I want it, but the problem is that I want to add another
attribute to the <a>-tag, namely class="". Long story short, I want
specific links to look differently from others, but all of them being
link_to_function. Normally, I''d do this with adding a class="foo" to

AJAX & Ruby & Rails newbie here.
I''ve got a link to remote that I believe should be working, but doesn''t
seem in fact to do *anything*. I''m looking at the webrick log, since
the Book says I should be seeing some hot POST action in there, but
there''s literally no change when I click on the JS link. From looking at
the source that''s

image_tag :align => 'absmiddle' ?
hi,
i''ve been through the rails apis and searched through past rails discussion,
but i haven''t managed to find a way of aligning images with the image_tag()

padawan seeks advice from jedi masters to create toggle box via ajax/rjs before slitting wrists with ruby powered light-saber.
I AM TRYING TO MAKE A DAMN TOGGLE BOX, BUT USING MY OWN GRAPHIC AND HAVING
THE MOUSECLICK TRIGGER BOTH SWITCHING THE GRAPHIC (via AJAX) AND SAVING THE
STATE IN THE DATABASE.
I GOT IT ALL WORKING WITH NORMAL HTML GET CALLS TO THE SERVER, BUT I NEED IT
TO BE AJAXIFIED SO THAT THE PAGE DOESN''T RELOAD.
AND TO COMPLICATE MATTERS, IT HAS TO WORK IN A TABLE WITH AN ARBITRARY
NUMBER OF ENTRIES,
