Is shorewall comptible with hipac?
Hi all,
http://www.hipac.org/index.htm
I have just discovered this great project. It seems it surpasses
standard netfilter in performance.
The documentation states they are more or less compatible with
standard netfilter, but anybody has tested if it is compatible with
shorewall? Tom, have you?
Regards

High speed traffic filtering
Hi;
First, sorry if this question is mostly netfilter related, than lartc,
but I think you guys may have a your opinion about this.
I''m using Linux 2.4.x with netfilter packet filtering / NAT on our
front-end firewalls (P500 with 1Gb RAM), which are filtering traffic
going to our Public Web Sites.
The traffic is growing very fast since several months.. The average

Fair que between 255 users
Hello guys
I have a subnet with 255 users, which need to share 1 single slow internet
connection, so i would like to implement a kind of *fair queuing *on the
UPLOAD between them, which means that they all share the connection
equally..
The tools that i have available is: A linux box with IPROUTE2,HTB and TC..
I have looked at some examples, and my first idea was to make 255 entries in

userspace tarpit
...
Hello!
I completed a simple userspace tarpit script:
http://www.radlinux.org/connexion/browser/branches/0.4.4/lib/cxnet
It is not a production solution, but an example of cxnet usage. Whilst not as
fast as libnfnetlink and kernel netfilter, cxnet is extremely simple and can
be used for rapid net-apps development or in GNU/Linux network studies (e.g.,
for educational purposes).

CBQ troubles, processor overload
Hey there everyone,
I appreciated everyone''s help so much in the last few posts I
decided to post some more! :)
We implemented our bandwidth management machine on the network
last week and everything looked great. After looking at it today,
anything past the machine is losing major packets and the latency is
high.
I''m using RedHat 9.0 on a Pentium 4 2.8ghz with 512mb of ram.

NaN in hurdle model please?
Simplify your model. Does your TandemRepeat have a lot of levels? Or is
your sample size very small?
Alain
Dear all,
I am
fitting a hurdle model in the following way:
HNB <-
hurdle(chro ~ as.factor(TandemRepeat)| as.factor(TandemRepeat), data =data_negbin_fin,
dist = "negbin")
But the std.
error for log(theta) = NA
Count model
coefficients (truncated negbin with log link):

I am trying to use iptables together with tc

The command is copied from iptables manual itself (of course interface

shaping by packet count rather than bytes ?
In wireless networks it can be handy to shape by packet rate
rather than bytes/s (because capacity is packet-rate-limited).
Has anyone done any work on packet-rate shaping ?
Thanks.
