HTB Weird Shaping Question(Bug?). Please Help!
Hi all, I have a script that allocates an ADSL(1500K/256K) bandwidth to three users. My idea is to allow each user having a guarentee rate, while each one is allowed to burst to the max rate while no one is using the bandwidth. I use imq0 for uplink (for some mobility reason) and imq1 for downlink. Everything works smoothly except for VoIP traffic. There are three VoIP phones attached to a

Should I choose DSL @ 1.5 or a full T1?
I'm looking to expand my bandwidth for my Asterisk PBX. Why should I choose a T1 over DSL for my asterisk server? I found someone offering T1's for $290 a month + Loops or 3 Meg for $561 a month + Loops. Is this a good deal? Thanks Bart -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... 12 seat call centre with Asterisk, VoIP only, UK - possible?
Hi, I've had an inquiry for a small UK call centre, mostly outbound calls. I get the impression they are mainly calling 3G mobile phones, monthly phone bill, with calls is approx ?5,000 for several feature lines. How feasible is something like this with asterisk? I guess one big question is which type of circuit to use, ADSL in the UK is only 256kbs upstream, some providers do bonding but

pppoe question
Hi THere, sorry if this is a stupid question or does not belong to this forum. I''ve set my DEFROUTE=no in my ifcfg-ppp0 and when I bring the ppp0 up, it deletes my old default load balance routes which I do not want, as I just want the interface to be up, but not touching my default routes any advice Thanks SEW

HTB Rate and Prio (continued)
Hi again, I keep posting about my problem with HTB -> http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2005q3/016611.html With a bit of search I recently found the exact same problem I have in the 2004 archives with some graphs that explain it far better than I did -> http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2004q4/014519.html and http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2004q4/014568.html

Redundant internet connections.
(I know that what I''m wanting to do can be done, but for some reason I can not get it to work for the life of me. I think I have been staring at it too long and too closely.) I have two different internet connections from two cooperating ISPs. I also have a small 8 block of IPs that are globally routable that both ISPs will route to me via my world facing globally routable IPs that

HTB ATM MPU OVERHEAD (without any patching)
I know there is that handy patch available to very efficiently use ATM bandwidth, but I was wondering what the best values to use with a non-patched iproute2 would be. Anyone here care to check my logic in coming up with these numbers and perhaps suggest better values? My transmit speed is 768kbps per ADSL line (I have two). This is the HTB shaping I do on the interface (logic used for this

[Bridge] Problem with Routed mode using br2684ctl tool
Hi, I am writing this email in sincere hope that somebody experienced similar/same problem and found solution to it. The classical bridge setup could be achieved using brctl tool, which could be found at: http://home.regit.org/br2684.html I have an ADSL CO line card Linux based [2.4.24 kernel] with 8 nas interfaces and eth0. Rather than having bridge, the decision was to have a router, which

Theory test
Guys Considering the festive season is upon us, thanks to everyone contributing to the list and helping all the readers with your great input! I don''t want to mention names, I''ll most certainly leave someone out. With this mail I''d like to test some theory on bandwidth management, with my own successes and failures during the past year. Multi-tenant with receptionist features for managed service
Dear all, I'm currently researching options for a MT asterisk gui/system for a small business centre that will have 12 units in it. Each unit will be configured for one extension. The system there will have a max of 12 concurrent calls to PSTN provided via an ADSL/SDSL link to our VoIP provider in the UK, using g.711, maybe g.729 dependant on networking costs. Fallback will be to 4 analogue

Bandwidth management and ADSL router
Hi All; I discover that most of the voice cutting complain are coming from the Internet bandwidth when we are connecting two remote offices togethor via Asterisk or any other IP PBX. Anyone has an idea on a ADSL router that work as ADSL + Bandwidth division? So we can resolve the problem of providing a guaranteed bandwidth for the voice packets instead of suffering the voice cutting? Regards

RC1 problem? (Conversation over two IAX2 streams = nasty, gappy audio)
I've been having 'gappy' audio problems with nufone for about a week now but I think I've nailed it down. Setup: office* - iax2 - colo* - iax2 - nufone office* and colo* are identical physical hardware (Xeon 2.8, dual ethernet, solely used for Asterisk) -- they are joined together through their second ethernet ports over a dedicated 2meg SDSL link. One hop between office* and

Intermittent Silence
I am currently experiencing intermittent silences with my asterisk system. The symptoms are as follows: * Both for incoming and outgoing calls, I (and other users) occasionally experience a brief period of silence. * The silence lasts anywhere from 3 to 10 seconds. * It is not due to silence suppression, because the silences generally occur in the middle of sentences. * Silences occur at

Atcom IP-4B ISDN IP PBX?
Hello For customers who need a small IP PBX to handle up to four ISDN lines (in France, so I guess that means EuroISDN) instead of a PC + Asterisk and an ISDN gateway box, has someone already played with the Atcom IP-4B? www.atcom.cn/IP-BRIM.html Any feedback appreciated.

Class C network 223.255.255.x
Hi, Most networks are using either 10.x.x.x or 172.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x , but was curious If I can use the range 223.255.255.x for my backbone routing, this looks like a nice block to use as most ppl don''t use this, specially if you build quite a big intranet what about the whole 223.x.x.x block, will this be used on the internet? sorry if its a stupid questions Thanks Sew
