Kernel source package missing?
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for the package kernel-source-2.6.9-34 (from 4.3) and
I can't find it anywhere. In fact, the only mention to it I have found
is on the RedHat errata (I also have the RHEL CDs and it is not there
either).
Where can I get it from? I wanna compile some packages and I need the
kernel source.
Thanks

rpmrebuild or rpmbuild question
Hello
I have compiled php on a server, but want to upgrade and recompile it
with new features.
is rpmbuild or rpmrebuild capable of compiling or adding these new
features ? or I should
download the source and run ./configure again ? what about yum ? it was
great if yum or
rpmbuild could save the current config and just add the new extensions.
Thanks

64 bit and 32 bit are mixed up
Hello
I have installed Centos 5.1 on 64 bit servers, and I see some of the
packages have been installed two times,
one for i386 and one for 64 bits. I don't know why i386 packages can be
installed on 64 bit machine and why they
should come together, even some times when I am searching yum repository
, I see i386 and x64
packages. shouldn't the search result depend on server

Installing from a custom kernel
Since the built in kernel doesn't have the raid10 module for some
reason, I would like to custom compile a kernel that does, and install
with it. How would I go about doing this?

Hi Folks,
I've been using CentOS for 2 month and I'm very pleased about this nice
distro.
But now there a the new version 4.4 and my question:
I'm using the kernel from centosplus because of reiserfs.
What have I to do now? Waiting for an update from centosplus?
Please give me a hint.
Thx

Ruby 1.8.2 or 1.8.4?
I'm wanting to run Ruby on Rails and I want to do it the cleanest way
possible.
I don't mind using the rubygems package management for the Rails related
dependencies.
But Ruby itself, to my knowledge, cannot be installed as a gem. CentOS
4.3 uses Ruby 1.8.1. Rails requires 1.8.2 or 1.8.4. Neither Dag nor
CentOSPlus have a later version for RHEL.
What's my best bet? An SRPM

AW: Problems with installation
ok - I tried this too. But CentOS tries to find the floppy as /dev/hda which
is not the device for the USB-Floppy. Dell ships one with the server because
no one is integrated. So when I try to include the driver disk the installer
is not able to find it.

Weird crash with CentOS 5.1
Dear all.
I'm experiencing a weird crash with one of our desktop running CentOS 5.1
We have 5 machines identical, onle one has this problem.
Right after it starts, it will kernel panic. Unfortunately, from the
backtrace this is all I've managed to get : serial port isn't working.
So it's a manual copy of what the screen show.
