[PATCH] btrfs-progs: use btrfs error code for kernel errors
Now with the below kernel patch, the excl operations like dev
add/replace/resize and balance returns the btrfs error
code defined in btrfs.h, this patch will help btrfs-progs
(and thus user) to know the error string on the terminal
(instead of /var/log/messages as previously kernel did).
This patch depends on the btrfs kernel patch:

Panic while running defrag
I ran into a panic while running find -xdev | xargs brtfs fi defrag

saved. I also started and stopped it a few times however.
The kernel logs were on a different filesystem. Here is the

[PATCH 001/001] btrfs: Mechanism to modify the permission of a subvolume
From: Ajesh JS <ajesh.js@hp.com>
This patch provides a mechanism to modify the permission of a subvolume in a btrfs file system
This helps to apply a policy of having read-write subvolume inside a read-only subvolume.
One use case is to have the whole root file system as a read-only subvolume and have /etc as a read-write subvolume inside.

[Request for review] [RFC] Add label support for snapshots and subvols
From: Anand Jain <anand.jain@oracle.com>
(This patch is for the review/test not yet for the integration).
Here is an implementation of the feature to add label to the
subvolume and snapshots. Which would help sysadmin to better manager
the subvol and snapshots.
This can be done in two ways, one - using attr which is user land
only changes but drawback is able to change the label

[PATCH 0/4] btrfs: out-of-band (aka offline) dedupe v4
Hi,
The following series of patches implements in btrfs an ioctl to do
out-of-band deduplication of file extents.
To be clear, this means that the file system is mounted and running, but the
dedupe is not done during file writes, but after the fact when some
userspace software initiates a dedupe.
The primary patch is loosely based off of one sent by Josef Bacik back
in January, 2011.

[PATCH v4 0/3] Btrfs: quota rescan for 3.10
The kernel side for rescan, which is needed if you want to enable qgroup
tracking on a non-empty volume. The first patch splits
btrfs_qgroup_account_ref into readable ans reusable units. The second
patch adds the rescan implementation (refer to its commit message for a
description of the algorithm). The third patch starts an automatic
rescan when qgroups are enabled. It is only separated to

PATCH: btrfs defrag ioctl, override extent count and size checks compression enabled.
I noticed a few days ago that btrfs fi defrag -cXXX can not be used to
compress files unless they are fragmented. The attached patch passes
the compression flag to should_defrag_range, where it disables the
adjacent-extent and extent size checks if set. The inline/sparse
extent check is not modified - I assumed it would not be useful to
compress inline extents.

ip frag / defrag latency.

Tom,
If you have connection tracking enabled, then you have auto-magically
ordered all packets to be defragged is that correct? I wonder if there
is any noticible latency, especially in on-line games with defragging
packets.
Are there any ways to make an exception - to avoid tracking certain
