[PATCH] btrfs-progs: Check mount status of multidevice filesystems
Some programs like btrfsck should not be run on a mounted filesystem. This patch adds a check in btrfs_open_devices() for the mount status of every device belonging to the filesystem. The function check_mount() gets improved support for loopback devices. It now detects if the program is run on the file that is being used by the loopback device. Signed-off-by: Andi Drebes

[BUG?] There is a possibility that 'i_ino' overflows
Hi, In btrfs, inode number is increased each time a new file or directory is made. Therefore, if the making deletion of the file is repeated, value of ''i_ino'' increases rapidly. For example, inode number changes as follows. $ touch foo $ ls -i foo 266 foo $ rm foo $ touch bar $ ls -i bar 267 bar $ And then, length of ''i_ino'' and

[PATCH] Btrfs: fix error check of btrfs_lookup_dentry()
Clean up btrfs_lookup_dentry() to never return NULL, but PTR_ERR(-ENOENT) instead. This keeps the return value convention consistent. Callers who use btrfs_lookup_dentry() require a trivial update. create_snapshot() in particular looks like it can also lose a BUG_ON(!inode) which is not really needed - there seems less harm in returning ENOENT to userspace at that point in the stack than there

[PATCH] fix uncheck memory allocations
To make Btrfs code more robust, several return value checks where memory allocation can fail are introduced. I use BUG_ON where I don''t know how to handle the error properly, which increases the number of using the notorious BUG_ON, though. [PATCH] Btrfs: use join_transaction in btrfs_evict_inode()
The WARN_ON() in start_transaction() was triggered while balancing. The cause is btrfs_relocate_chunk() started a transaction and then called iput() on the inode that stores free space cache, and iput() called btrfs_start_transaction() again. [RFC PATCH 4/4 v2] Btrfs: deal with filesystem state at mount, umount
Since there is a filesystem state, we should deal with it carefully at mount, umount and remount. - At mount, the FS state should be checked if there is error on these FS. If it does have, btrfsck is recommended. - At umount, the FS state should be saved into disk for consistency. Signed-off-by: Liu Bo <liubo2009@cn.fujitsu.com> --- fs/btrfs/disk-io.c | 47

Subvolume creation returns file exists
Hello, We are using btrfs filesystems in our infrastructure and, at some point of time, they start refusing to create new subvolumes. Each file system is being quota initialized immediately after its creation (with "btrfs quota enable") and then all subfolders under the root directory are created as subvolumes (btrfs subvolume create). Over time, these subvolumes may also be

Can't remove empty directory after kernel panic, no errors in dmesg
Hi List, so first the basics. I''m running Arch Linux with 3.13-rc2, btrfs-progs 0.20rc1.3-2 from the repo and I''m using a SSD. So I was having kernel panics with my USB 3.0 Gigabit card and was trying to get a panic output. These panics are intermittent and most often happen while using Chromium. Anyway so my system paniced while I was in Chromium. After the reboot Chromium

Modules Search and Puppet
Hi, I''m not using puppet in a standard way (ie. in a server/client configuration), just the standalone ''puppet --use-nodes'' command. I''m having problems with the directory structure of modules and using the import feature. My directory infrastructure looks like this: /srv/puppet/facter/... /srv/puppet/manifests/site.pp /srv/puppet/manifests/libs/file.pp

Hi All, I''m trying to repair a broken fs using btrfsck and am hitting a failed assertion. I''d appreciate any suggestions for what to do next. Is there any thing I can do to help fix this bug? Any other information from my FS which would help? If the FS could be salvaged that would be a bonus, but I''m more interested in providing a useful bug report before wiping the
