[PATCH] Btrfs: pick the correct metadata allocation size on small devices
Josef''s fs_mark test fs_mark -d /mnt/btrfs-test -D 512 -t 16 -n 4096 -F -S0 on a 2GB single metadata fs leaves about 400Mb of metadata almost unused. This patch reduces metadata chunk allocations by considering the proper metadata chunk size of 200MB in should_alloc_chunk(), not the default 256MB which is set in __btrfs_alloc_chunk(). 'filesystem resize max' tries to use devid 1
Back story: I started my pool with a 200gb partition at the end of my drive (sdc5) , until I was able to clear out the data at the beginning of my drive. Currently mkfs in response to mkfs.btrfs -d raid10 dev1 dev2 instead of telling "you can''t do that" creates a SINGLE on two devices, and only rebalance can transform it to raid0. Is it possible to reclaim block groups once they are allocated to data or metadata?
Hello list, recently reformatted my home partition from XFS to RAID1 btrfs. I used the default options to mkfs.btrfs except for enabling raid1 for data as well as metadata. nmap not scanning networks?

Doing this would reliably fail with -EBUSY for me: # mount /dev/sdb2 /mnt/scratch; umount /mnt/scratch; mkfs.btrfs -f /dev/sdb2 ... unable to open /dev/sdb2: Device or resource busy because mkfs.btrfs tries to open the device O_EXCL, and somebody still has it.
