can't read superblock (but could mount)
Hi!
I used to have arch linux running on 1 btrfs partition (sda1, incl. /boot).
When switching to 3.2.5 recently the system fails to boot:
(after udevd)
/etc/rc.sysinit: line 15: 117 Bus error mountpoint -q /proc
and so on, no idea.
It used to boot with 3.2.4, but
1) I obviously had some corruption in the tree, when I tried to delete a
certain file I hit e.g. "kernel BUG at

[PATCH] Btrfs: fix sync fs to actually wait for all data to be persisted
Currently the fs sync function (super.c:btrfs_sync_fs()) doesn''t
wait for delayed work to finish before returning success to the
caller. This change fixes this, ensuring that there''s no data loss
if a power failure happens right after fs sync returns success to
the caller and before the next commit happens.
Steps to reproduce the data loss issue:
$ mkfs.btrfs -f /dev/sdb3

Damaged super block / fs root
I have accidently damaged the first block(s) of a btrfs partition
and can''t mount it anymore.
I can see that my data is still intact by running a command like:
cat /dev/sda5 | hexdump -C | more
Do any (experimental) tools exist which would allow me to recover the files?
Thank you

attr.all.equal() and all.equal(attributes(), attributes())
Dear All!
If I try to compare the attributes of two
objects, I find a surprising behaviour of
attr.all.equal(). With identical attributes I
receive the answert NULL. If the attributes
differ, the answer is as expecxted and differences are shown.
all.equal(attributes(), attributes()) instead
returns TRUE, if attributes are equal.
See example:
v <- 1:5
attr(v, 'testattribute')

levels() deletes other attributes
Dear All,
it seems to me that levels() deletes other attributes. See the following
example:
## example with levels
f1 <- factor(c('level c','level b','level a','level c'), ordered=TRUE)
attr(f1, 'testattribute') <- 'teststring'
attributes(f1)
levels(f1) <- c('L-A', 'L-B', 'L-C')
attributes(f1)
If I run it, after

How to make attributes persist after indexing?
Dear All!
For descriptive purposes I would like to add attributes to objects. These
attributes should be kept, even if by indexing only part of the object is
used.
I noted that some attributes like levels and class of a factor exist also
after indexing, while others, like comment or label vanish.
Is there a way to make an arbitrary attribute to be kept after indexing?
This would be especially

Why duplicate "protected:" in SmallVector.h, StringMap.h?
In SmallVector.h:
class SmallVectorBase {

void *BeginX, *EndX, *CapacityX;
*protected:*
SmallVectorBase(void *FirstEl, size_t Size)

In StringMap.h:

Warning: bad fsid on block 20971520
Hi,
the $subj warning appears sometimes in syslog, in my case when
xfstests/209 runs looped. The minimal reproducer is looped mkfs+mount.
The message comes from disk-io.c btree_readpage_end_io_hook():

[PATCH for discussion] lib: update inspect_list_applications to return app_arch
Here's a partially implemented fix for RHBZ#859949. Seeing as this is
my first libguestfs patch, I'd like some other eyeballs on it to make
sure I've not done anything completely crazy.
If the rpm case looks ok, I'll update the deb and windows cases
if/where applicable.

unremovable dirs from failed unlink
A while ago someone on IRC had a directory with no entries but with a
non-zero i_size. rmdir fails because i_size isn''t zero but there are no
items left to remove and decrease i_size.
At the time casual code inspection implied that this would be possible
in unlucky error cases. I finally got around to really reading up and
reproducing it.

Share access problem from 3.4.0
Hi all,
we have a public share for all of our users. The share definition is as
follows:
[public]
comment =
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
path = /gpfs/fbb/apps/public
force group = @BUILTIN+Users
valid users = @BUILTIN+Users
write list = @BUILTIN+Users
All of our data resides on a GPFS file system. The share is defined and
accessed on a AIX 5.3.10 node with samba 3.0.26a. Here users do not

[PATCH] Btrfs-progs: fix missing recow roots when making btrfs filesystem
When making btrfs filesystem. we firstly write root leaf to
specified filed, and then we recow the root. If we don''t recow,
some trees are not in the correct block group.
Steps to reproduce:

mkfs.btrfs -f test.img
btrfs-debug-tree test.img
extent tree key (EXTENT_TREE ROOT_ITEM 0)
