PHP 5.2
To me, there seems to be growing support to requiring PHP 5.2 within the next year, see http://www.gophp5.org/ . Does anyone know of plans to release PHP 5.2 RPMS in any of the major repos? -- Sincerely, John Thomas

centosplus + priority plugin
I have a Centos 4 box that has been updated all the way to 4.6 without using the centosplus repository. Now I want to use the centosplus repository for Centos 4 to get the latest LAMP, mod_perl, perl and other perl modules so that I can install rt 3.6.6 and its necessary modules. However, for some reason, the latest perl package in the centosplus repository does not appear on the radar when

RHWAS rebuild efforts
There is a new Web Application Stack that I would like to get the RPMS for into CentOS Plus. I am trying to get the upstream provider to the provide these SRPMS to their public FTP server, but so far they are not there: https://www.redhat.com/archives/nahant-list/2006-October/msg00053.html These RPMS would be a major add to CentOSPlus .... as they would provide an enterprise web stack with

centosplus and contrib rpms
hi, it'd be useul if the centosplus and contrib directory can contain a small readme file or some kind of documentaion about the rpm inside. currently there is not any kind of such docs (ok johnny send a description about the kernel rpms, but if someone missed that email). eg the postfix rpm has the same description and changelog inside the rpm as the original ones. if someone just look into

unixODBC Centos 5 Testing version
Trying to get a later version of the unixODBC RPM that is in Centos 5, I read in some posting that unixODBC.x86_64 2.2.12-1.el5s2 was in the testing repo but I was unable to locate it, currently it appears that we are runningunixODBC-2.2.11-7.1. PostgreSQL 8.2?
I've been using RPMs for PG 8.1 from CentosPlus for some time now. I've been very happy with them, and they've been wonderfully stable. http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/x86_64/RPMS/ But now 8.2 is out. Are there any plans to support PG 8.2 in CentosPlus, or should I go ahead with RPMS directly from PG?

Postgres Config File (eg: PGDATA)
Hi guys, need some clarification on whether there is a config file sourced by the init script to determine where PGDATA is located. Right now, it seems like it's not sourced from anywhere by located on the init file itself. Appreciate if you guys can let me know if this is the correct place for altering it.

Samba Shares and Win32 Viruses
Hi Collective users of Samba, (does has a nice ring to it eh?) Recently I found a my samba server being infected by win32 viruses. Though it does not affect the server in any way, I do find them to be an annoyance. I understand also that I can perform "veto" of files like *.exe in smb.conf but find that to be a wee bit restrictive. There are some users who stores valid executables in

Looking for SQSH Rpms
Hi All, I would like to obtain a copy of SQSH (www.sqsh.org) in RPM form. Does anyone know where this can/could be obtained? I do not wish to compile it from source. (because I didn't install a C compiler into my Centos 4.4 System) (I've already got a copy of FreeTDS 0.63 which it depends on in DAG's repo) Thanks

Traffic Control
So after reading the traffic control documentation at shorewall.net I am a little confused. I don''t understand how to use the tcrules file. What I would ideally like to do is setup htb on a per user basis (either by IP or MAC address). If anybody has any hints on the best way to do this or is willing to explain the use of tcrules file a little better (how I could mark it per IP or MAC)

getent showing wrong gids af
The only thing I know is that tdb files are Trivial DataBase files. So it's a database used by samba to persistently store stuff. The file I was refering to accidentally had "winbind" and "id" in its name, so I just deleted it to see what it gives. Seems I made the right choice. I have no idea how to view these files though. Maybe someone on the list knows?

Q about CentOS-4
I have a client with a server on CentOS-4 and I'm looking to upgrade to latest horde/imp/etc. clearly php 4.3.9-xx is not up to the task but I see that upgrades for php & mysql are in CentOS-Plus I see that CentOS-4 projects to get security updates until 3/2012 which probably is the usefulness of the hardware itself. So my questions... - Will CentOS-Plus maintain the php/mysql packages

X flag in smbpasswd?
mksmbpasswd.sh does not create accounts with the X flag in the password flags field. Does this X matter, and if so, what does it mean?
