[PATCH 2/2] Btrfs: use a lock to protect incompat/compat flag of the super block
The following case will make the incompat/compat flag of the super block be recovered. Task1 |Task2 flags = btrfs_super_incompat_flags(); | |flags = btrfs_super_incompat_flags(); flags |= new_flag1; | |flags |= new_flag2; btrfs_set_super_incompat_flags(flags); | |btrfs_set_super_incompat_flags(flags); the new_flag1 is recovered. [PATCH] Btrfs: set a incompat flag when setting default subvol
Older kernels would generally be able to still mount the filesystem with the default subvolume set, but it would result in a different volume being mounted, which could be an even more unpleasant suprise for users. So if you set your default subvolume, you can''t go back to older kernels. Thanks, Signed-off-by: Josef Bacik <josef@redhat.com> --- fs/btrfs/ctree.h | 4 +++-

[Btrfs-Progs] Update for lzo support
- Add incompat flag, otherwise btrfs-progs will report error when operating on btrfs filesystems mounted with lzo option. - Allow to turn on lzo compression for defrag operation: # btrfs filesystem defragment -c[zlib, lzo] <file> Note: "-c zlib" will fail, because that''s how getopt() works for optional arguments. [PATCH] Btrfs-progs: add skinny metadata support to progs V3
This fixes up the progs to properly deal with skinny metadata. This adds the -x option to mkfs and btrfstune for enabling the skinny metadata option. This also makes changes to fsck so it can properly deal with the skinny metadata entries. [PATCH v2] Btrfs: return error when we specify wrong start to defrag
We need such a sanity check for wrong start when we defrag a file, otherwise, even with a wrong start that''s larger than file size, we can end up changing not only inode''s force compress flag but also FS''s incompat flags. [PATCH] Canonicalise BTRFS: and Btrfs: to btrfs:
Currently there are 3 different capitalisations of btrfs: used in printk()''s, BTRFS: (3 occurences), Btrfs: (1 occurence) and btrfs: (77 occurences). It''s best to have them all the same for consistency, so we canonicalise the two minority cases to btrfs:. [RFB] add LZ4 compression method to btrfs
Hi, so here it is, LZ4 compression method inside btrfs. The patchset is based on top of current Chris'' for-linus + Andi''s snappy implementation + the fixes from Li Zefan. Passes xfstests and stresstests. I haven''t measured performance on wide range of hardware or workloads, rather wanted to publish the patches before I get distracted again. I''d like to ask

[PATCH 0/5] btrfs: lz4/lz4hc compression
WARNING: This is not compatible with the previous lz4 patchset. If you''re using experimental compression that isn''t in mainline kernels, be prepared to backup and restore or decompress before upgrading, and have backups in case it eats data (which appears not to be a problem any more, but has been during development). These patches add lz4 and lz4hc compression

[PATCH] Btrfs: allow partial ordered extent completion
We currently have this problem where you can truncate pages that have not yet been written for an ordered extent. We do this because the truncate will be coming behind to clean us up anyway so what''s the harm right? Well if truncate fails for whatever reason we leave an orphan item around for the file to be cleaned up later. But if the user goes and truncates up the file and tries to

[RFC PATCH 4/4 v2] Btrfs: deal with filesystem state at mount, umount
Since there is a filesystem state, we should deal with it carefully at mount, umount and remount. - At mount, the FS state should be checked if there is error on these FS. If it does have, btrfsck is recommended. - At umount, the FS state should be saved into disk for consistency. Signed-off-by: Liu Bo <liubo2009@cn.fujitsu.com> --- fs/btrfs/disk-io.c | 47

[PATCH]Add rollback support for the converter
Hello, This patch adds rollback support for the converter, the converter can roll back a conversion if the image file haven't been modified. [PATCH] Btrfs: add tests for btrfs_get_extent V2
I''m going to be removing hole extents in the near future so I wanted to make a sanity test for btrfs_get_extent to make sure I don''t break anything in the meantime. This patch just puts btrfs_get_extent through its paces by giving it a completely unreasonable mapping to look at and make sure it is giving us back maps that make sense. [PATCH] Btrfs: fall back to non-inline if we don't have enough space
If cow_file_range_inline fails with ENOSPC we abort the transaction which isn''t very nice. This really shouldn''t be happening anyways but there''s no sense in making it a horrible error when we can easily just go allocate normal data space for this stuff. [PATCH] Btrfs: allow compressed extents to be merged during defragment
The rule originally comes from nocow writing, but snapshot-aware defrag is a different case, the extent has been writen and we''re not going to change the extent but add a reference on the data. So we''re able to allow such compressed extents to be merged into one bigger extent if they''re pointing to the same data. Signed-off-by: Liu Bo <bo.li.liu@oracle.com> ---

[PATCH] Btrfs: add "nocompress" mount option
In btrfs if we mount with "compress" we have no way to disable compressing by remounting (mount -o remount /mnt/btrfs), only by unmounting and mounting without "compress". This patch adds "nocompress" mount option which can be used to remount the filesystem without compression: # mount -o remount, nocompress /mnt/btrfs This option is usefull in cases when we have a

[PATCH] Btrfs: fix uncheck memory allocations
To make Btrfs code more robust, several return value checks where memory allocation can fail are introduced. [PATCH 1/2] Btrfs/tracepoint: fix to report right flags for ordered extent
We use set_bit() to assign ordered extent''s flags, but in the related tracepoint we don''t do the same thing, which makes the trace output not to parse flags correctly. Also, since the flags are bits stuff, we change to use __print_flags with a ''delim'' instead of __print_symbolic. Signed-off-by: Liu Bo <bo.li.liu@oracle.com> ---
