[PATCH] Btrfs: fix sync fs to actually wait for all data to be persisted
Currently the fs sync function (super.c:btrfs_sync_fs()) doesn''t wait for delayed work to finish before returning success to the caller. This change fixes this, ensuring that there''s no data loss if a power failure happens right after fs sync returns success to the caller and before the next commit happens. Steps to reproduce the data loss issue: $ mkfs.btrfs -f /dev/sdb3 $

extended attributes wiredness
Hi, I am using kernel 3.7-rc6. I have written a test application for extended attributes and have for some folders a wired behaviour: #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <attr/xattr.h> char attrs[1024]; ssize_t attrslen; int i; char value[1024]; ssize_t valuelen; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { if (argc != 2) { fprintf(stderr, "Syntax: testxattr

unremovable dirs from failed unlink
A while ago someone on IRC had a directory with no entries but with a non-zero i_size. rmdir fails because i_size isn''t zero but there are no items left to remove and decrease i_size. At the time casual code inspection implied that this would be possible in unlucky error cases. I finally got around to really reading up and reproducing it. diff --git a/fs/btrfs/inode.c

Damaged super block / fs root
I have accidently damaged the first block(s) of a btrfs partition and can''t mount it anymore. I can see that my data is still intact by running a command like: cat /dev/sda5 | hexdump -C | more Do any (experimental) tools exist which would allow me to recover the files? [BUG?] There is a possibility that 'i_ino' overflows
Hi, In btrfs, inode number is increased each time a new file or directory is made. Therefore, if the making deletion of the file is repeated, value of ''i_ino'' increases rapidly. For example, inode number changes as follows. $ touch foo $ ls -i foo 266 foo $ rm foo $ touch bar $ ls -i bar 267 bar $ And then, length of ''i_ino'' and

[PATCH] Btrfs: use i_version instead of our own sequence
We''ve been keeping around the inode sequence number in hopes that somebody would use it, but nobody uses it and people actually use i_version which serves the same purpose, so use i_version where we used the incore inode''s sequence number and that way the sequence is updated properly across the board, and not just in file write. [PATCH 1/2] Btrfs: fix wrong handle at error path of create_snapshot() when the commit fails
There are several bugs at error path of create_snapshot() when the transaction commitment failed. - access the freed transaction handler. At the end of the transaction commitment, the transaction handler was freed, so we should not access it after the transaction commitment. - we were not aware of the error which happened during the snapshot creation if we submitted a async transaction

Why duplicate "protected:" in SmallVector.h, StringMap.h?
In SmallVector.h: class SmallVectorBase { *protected:* void *BeginX, *EndX, *CapacityX; *protected:* SmallVectorBase(void *FirstEl, size_t Size) : BeginX(FirstEl), EndX(FirstEl), CapacityX((char*)FirstEl+Size) {} In StringMap.h: class StringMapImpl { *protected:* // Array of NumBuckets pointers to entries, null pointers are holes. // TheTable[NumBuckets] contains a sentinel value

Warning: bad fsid on block 20971520
Hi, the $subj warning appears sometimes in syslog, in my case when xfstests/209 runs looped. The minimal reproducer is looped mkfs+mount. The message comes from disk-io.c btree_readpage_end_io_hook(): 581 if (check_tree_block_fsid(root, eb)) { 582 printk_ratelimited(KERN_INFO "btrfs bad fsid on block %llu\n", 583 (unsigned long

[RFC] Improve btrfs subvolume find-new command
Hi all, enclose a patch to improve the "btrfs subvolume find-new" command. This is a RFC because it is not finished, but it is an usable state and may be discussed. The aim of this patch is: - take in account not only an update of the extent but also an update of the inode and xattr (which includes the acl) - extract the generation reference number directly from a snapshot The new

Ghost file.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I mentioned a ghost file. Here is the dump (less than 65M): http://dev.mccme.ru/~raskin/btrfs.dump ghost file is: 885dj1l4788pymp3bk2f3dz52ggcvw4v-empty/garbage-1/mwave.h.tmp-31838-1822528541 It has a name, but stat fails (so no inode, I guess). Also I can create another file with the same name in the directory. I cannot remove the file, or

o2dlm mle hash patches - round 2
The changes from the last drop are: 1. Patch 11 removes struct dlm_lock_name. 2. Patch 12 is an unrelated bugfix. Actually is related to a bugfix that we are retracting in mainline currently. The patch may need more testing. While I did hit the condition in my testing, Marcos hasn't. I am sending it because it can be queued for 2.6.30. Give us more time to test. 3. Patch 13 will be useful

[PATCH] Btrfs-progs: fix missing recow roots when making btrfs filesystem
When making btrfs filesystem. we firstly write root leaf to specified filed, and then we recow the root. If we don''t recow, some trees are not in the correct block group. Steps to reproduce: dd if=/dev/zero of=test.img bs=1M count=100 mkfs.btrfs -f test.img btrfs-debug-tree test.img extent tree key (EXTENT_TREE ROOT_ITEM 0) leaf 4210688 items 10 free space 3349 generation 4 owner 2

Two Way ANOVA
Hi, I am using the: pcf.aov<-aov(meas~op+part, data=pcf.ex2), command to perform a two way ANOVA. When I save the: sumpcf<- summary.aov(pcf.aov), result of the summary.aov command in a variable I need to access the individual pieces of information in the summary. The summary appears to be a list and I am having a hard time finding a way to get at the information in the summary.

Convert mle list to a hash
These patches convert the mle list to a hash. The same patches apply on ocfs2 1.4 too. Currently, we use the same number of hash pages for mles and lockres'. This will be addressed in a future patch that will make both of them configurable. Sunil
