CentOS 5.3 and NTFS
Aaaaaa, I'm pulling out my hair over here! I have an external USB drive which I had at work, connected just fine to my CentOS 5.3 box. I recall there was some jiggery-pokery involved, but do not recall just what. So now I'm on my wife's freshly installed CentOS 5.3 laptop trying to get it going, and I keep getting errors about FATAL: Module fuse not found. I saw this message from

No audio in either direction, sip channels hanging, asterisk will not shut down.
Hi all, I have been asked to look into using asterisk as part of our setup. The eventual goal is to replace as many parts of the existing setup as possible, but in the interim, I just have to make it bolt on and work with all existing parts. My current setup is as follows: Cisco 7940 (ext 2000) | v Asterisk -> Snom SIP proxy(v2.22) -> Vega100 PSTN gw -> Index PBX |

syslinux 3.72 fails where 3.71 didn't
I have written a bash script (see below) to generate bootable SD-USB images using syslinux as booter. The script works OK with versions 3.63 and 3.71, but I get a null pointer error executing /tmp/$SYSLINUX/linux/syslinux -sf -o 16384 SD.img in 3.72. If you execute $ sudo sh SDformat.sh sys then you can test the image easily with qemu $ qemu -hda SD.img ++++++ SDformat.sh

syslinux and btrfs-formatted dos/MBR partition
Hello Gene, thanks for your reply. Yes BIOS mode. The config wants a menu, which loads fine under ext4 and not under btrfs. Under btrfs I have also tried to remove the syslinux.cfg file altogether (which should trigger the boot: prompt if I am not mistaken) and the result is the same: only the copyright line appears and no prompt. The three letter sequence is EDD. The disk is 160GB, here is the

syslinux and btrfs-formatted dos/MBR partition
For the MBR: I usually don't touch the Microsoft MBR and chainload Linux from the Microsoft bootloader. However while trying to get my btrfs setup to work, I backed up the Microsoft MBR (dd if=/dev/sda bs=440 count=1 of=MBRbackup.bin) and I installed the syslinux MBR. I tried several ways: - with the script provided by Arch: syslinux-install_update -i -a -m - manual method with mbr.bin (first

Fwd: zlib errors after upgrading to 2.3.11.3
Dear Aki, I switched to "gz" now, since "zstd" also gave some errors on writing to files. I dont know if "xz" compression or "zstd" shreddered my MDBOX Files, but I lost 4 days of mail. (a couple of thousand mails). After restoring the backup (what was made after switching to version 2.3.11.3) I still have some broken mdfiles, but not too many.
