[PATCH] Btrfs: make sure we find a bitmap entry
Yan Zheng hit a problem where we tried to remove some free space but failed because we couldn''t find the free space entry. This is because the free space was held within a bitmap that had a starting offset well before the actual offset of the free space, and there were free space extents that were in the same range as that offset, so tree_search_offset returned with NULL because we

RGtk2 on linux: "stack smashing detected"
Yea I am aware of this. This is because the Ubuntu binary has stack smashing detection enabled. It's possible to build R without this checking: export CFLAGS="-fno-stack-protector" I have not been able to figure out why stack smashing is detected. I'm cc'ing this to r-devel in case anyone else has an idea. Michael On Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 12:31 AM, Felix Andrews

[PATCH] Btrfs: add some free space cache tests
We keep hitting bugs in the tree log replay because btrfs_remove_free_space doesn''t account for some corner case. So add a bunch of tests to try and fully test btrfs_remove_free_space since the only time it is called is during tree log replay. These tests all finish successfully, so as we find more of these bugs we need to add to these tests to make sure we don''t regress in

btrfs goes read only after balance
Hi everybody, we are using a btrfs RAID 1 with four 2TB hard drives (WD Caviar green and one Red) on a Debian 7.2 with Kernel 3.12.0 Last week I replaced a broken Harddrive with btrfs replace ... After that I wanted to balance the filesystem and get a ''Speicherzugriffsfehler'' (Segmentation fault). After that I want to reboot the system and nothing happens, it hangs at a btrfs

[PATCH] Btrfs: cache bitmaps when searching for a cluster
If we are looking for a cluster in a particularly sparse or fragmented block group, we will do a lot of looping through the free space tree looking for various things, and if we need to look at bitmaps we will endup doing the whole dance twice. So instead add the bitmap entries to a temporary list so if we have to do the bitmap search we can just look through the list of entries we''ve

[PATCH] Btrfs-progs: add a free space cache checker to fsck
In trying to track down a weird tree log problem I wanted to make sure that the free space cache was actually valid, which we currently have no way of doing. So this patch adds a bunch of support for the free space cache code and then a checker to fsck. Basically we go through and if we can actually load the free space cache then we will walk the extent tree and verify that the free space cache

2.6.33 high cpu usage
With the ATI bug I was hitting earlier fixed, only my btrfs partition continues to show high cpu usage for some operations. Rsync, git pull, git checkout and svn up are typicall operations which trigger the high cpu usage. As an example, this perf report is from using git checkout to change to a new branch; the change needed to checkout 208 files out of about 1600 total files. du(1) reports

[PATCH 00/11] Btrfs: some patches for 3.3
The biggest one is a fix for fstrim, and there''s a fix for on-disk free space cache. Others are small fixes and cleanups. The last three have been sent weeks ago. The patchset is also available in this repo: git://repo.or.cz/linux-btrfs-devel.git for-chris Note there''s a small confict with Al Viro''s vfs changes. Li Zefan (11): Btrfs: add pinned extents to

Samba Panic
Below is a log file of a panic that occurs on two different sites running Debian Stable Samba 3.2.5. The problem is triggered by Sophos Control Centre doing it's hourly check for updates, and as SCC is running on a user's PC in both cases causes problems for the user. I've tried everything and cannot figure it out - anyone got any pointers/ideas what to do next ? [2009/05/18

btrfs filesystem balance /mnt/btrfs -> segmentation fault (kernel BUG at fs/btrfs/relocation.c:3296!)
I''ve enabled "extended inode refs" and "skinny metadata extent refs" with btrfstune. Then, I''ve tried running "btrfs filesystem balance" - unfortunately it segfaulted. (not sure if I should run balance operation after using btrfstune with -r and -x)? This is with 3.10 kernel with "Btrfs: make backref walking code handle skinny metadata"

nouveau git + v3.2-rc2 + NV18 Oops
My old machine started getting a bit flaky, so I have kicked it off my desk, but still wanted to get some nouveau bugs fixed on it. (In fact it's easier now that I can reboot it more easily.) So I put a spare old hard drive on it and rebuilt it, but I'm having a heck of a time getting it working. Whenever it tries to load the nouveau module, it blows up. What's funny is that it
