is space really freed after deleting large subvolume?
I''m wondering is space really freed after deleting large subvolume?
Will space be immediately available to other data like other
subvolumes?

system hang with btrfs master
I''m using btrfs on two devices here, /usr on sda3 and /home on sdb (dm-crypt
device on the whole disk). With btrfs-master the whole system hangs when
accessing /home. The system hangs when I''m logging in into my account with KDE
and is easily reproducible with dbench. On /usr the hangs appeared also but
not as often as on the /home-device. I''ve tested on a third

Fwd: Current State of BTRFS
Hi everybody,
I am using btrfs as my main fs for some time now, but I am
experiencing severe performance drawbacks. I can''t qualify the
circumstances, but sometimes during disc access the whole system
freezes for some time.
Maybe somebody could suggest some general things I could try to search
for the problem?
Thanks in advance,
Florian

Btrfs: blocked for more than 120 seconds, made worse by 3.2 rc7
Hello all:
I have two machines with btrfs, that give me the "blocked for more than
120 seconds" message. After that I cannot write anything to disk, i am
unable to unmount the btrfs filesystem and i can only reboot with
sysrq-trigger.
It always happens when i write many files with rsync over network. When
i used 3.2rc6 it happened randomly on both machines after 50-500gb of
writes.

Btrfs Intermittent ENOSPC Issues
I''ve been working on running down intermittent ENOSPC issues.
I can only seem to replicate ENOSPC errors when running zlib
compression. However, I have been seeing similar ENOSPC errors to a
lesser extent when playing with the LZ4HC patches.
I apologize for not following up on this sooner, but I had drifted
away from using zlib, and didn''t notice there was still an issue.

Crashes in extent_io.c after "btrfs bad mapping eb" notice
Hello,
I have been having some crashes like this. Since I upgraded to 3.6.4 they have become common. The crashes happen pretty randomly during normal system usage. After the syslog messages the system stays semi usable for a minute, but when I run any new program it hangs. I had to downgrade to 3.6.2 to get my system usable again.
Is there any way I can help find the cause of those crashes?

/home on BTRFS on SSD, now highly fragmenting virtuoso database - use autodefrag?
Hi!
Today I converted my /home from Ext4 to BTRFS by reformatting and copying
all over again.
I created the filesystem with -l 16384 -n 16384 -d single -m single on an
logical volume Intel SSD 320 and mount with compress=lzo, spacecache. Current state:

btrfs hang in flush-btrfs-5
Hi - I''m trying btrfs with kernel 2.6.38.8-32.fc15.x86_64 (a Fedora kernel).
I''m just doing a tar-to-tar copy onto the file system with compress-
force=zlib. Here are some traces of the stuck processes.
flush-btrfs-5 seems to be stuck:

Hello btrfs!
Recently I upgraded to 3.2.0-rc4 due to instabilities with my btrfs

3.2.0-rc4 it stays at least somehow usable (for some strange reason my xorg
screen turns black as soon as this happens, only ssh is working then).
Scrubbing reports 1 uncorrectable error. I have this error since my system

BTRFS partition won't mount
Hello all,
I recently had a power failure and can no longer mount my /home directory. The harddrive has two BTRFS partitions: sda7(/) and sda8(/home). The / partition loads up just fine, but /home does not. I''ve tried btrfsck as shown below and I''ve included dmesg pertaining to btrfs. This is on ArchLinux and the software versions are as follows:

btrfs-cleaner Blocked on xfstests 068
I''m running into a problem with the btrfs-cleaner thread becoming
blocked on xfstests 068.
The test locks up indefinitely without completing (normally it
finished in about 45 seconds on my test box).
I''ve replicated the issue on 3.10.0_rc5 and the for-linus branch of 3.9.0.
I ran a git bisect on the 3.9.0 for-linus branch, and tracked my issue
to the following commit:

Hello!
Today I downgraded from Ubuntu''s APT repo "oneiric-proposed" (which
brings some kernel 3.0.0-13) back to the standard repo "oneiric".
Now I''m not able to mount my btrfs / and /home (both on the same
partition) anymore:

[BUG] Cannot Mount Btrfs Volume Created By mkfs.btrfs v0.18-26-g0030f1d
Hi,
I try to format a USB memory with a Btrfs. I can format it with
mkfs.btrfs without problems. But; when I try to mount it, it fails to
mount with the below error messages. But the USB memory works fine with
other filesystems (ext4, XFS etc.). So, the hardware is not faulty.
tarkane@tarkane:~$ sudo mkfs.btrfs -d single -n 4096 /dev/sdb1

BUG while writing to USB btrfs filesystem
While untar''ing an image to an sd card via a reader, I got the
following bug. The system also has a btrfs root, and a whole swath of
processes went into uninterruptable sleep. I was able to poke around
via ssh and sysrq, and already had netconsole set up to capture the
bug.
Root fs is on /dev/sdi1, and /dev/sdj2 is the card reader which was
the target of the untar.
