klibc-0.124 released with 64-bit off_t and struct statfs64
It's checked in, it seems to work, it didn't bloat the system
significantly, but it makes life a lot easier...
I just released klibc-0.124 with the 64-bit off_t and statfs64 changes.
The API shouldn't have changed, but the ABI is now 64 bits in
(hopefully) all the right places.
It's probably buggy... beat me up or (better) send a patch...

NFS exporting btrfs subvolumes.
NFS needs a unique identifier for a filesystem to be able to export it.
This can be set by the admin (fsid= in /etc/exports) but that is a hassle
and it is best to set it automatically.
nfs-utils currently uses the UUID returned by libblkid if that works,
or the fsid returned by statfs64 if libblkid finds nothings and
fsid is non-zero. Otherwise it uses device major/minor.

Samba 4.3.11 accessing disk every minute
The latest version that Western Digital has shipped with the My cloud devices accesses the disk
about twice a minute. The access to /dev/sda2 is causing the system to keep the disk from going
into standby mode. I don't understand the call to quotactl every minute when no one is trying to access the share.
An strace of one of the processes shows the following:

[PATCH] ocfs2: return f_fsid info in ocfs2_statfs(), v4
Currently f_fsid of struct kstatfs returned from ocfs2_statfs() is undefined (vfs layer fills 0 as
default). Since in some conditions, f_fsid value might be used as (f_fsid, ino) pair to
uniquely identify a file, ocfs2 should return a unique defined f_fsid value from ocfs2_statfs().
Because uuid_str is identified no mater on big or litlle endian machine, it's also endian consistent

[patch] statfs64 sparc64 fix
From: Sjoerd Simons <sjoerd@spring.luon.net>
It seems that klibc uses __sparc64__ to determine if it's compiled in 64
bit mode on sparc, unfortunatly gcc doesn't define __sparc64__ :) It does
define __arch64__ though.

[PATCH] ocfs2: return f_fsid info in ocfs2_statfs()
Currently f_fsid of struct kstatfs returned from ocfs2_statfs() is undefined (at least it should be
filled with 0). Since in some conditions, f_fsid value might be used as (f_fsid, ino) pare to
uniquely identify a file, ocfs2 should return a defined unique f_fsid value from ocfs2_statfs().
This patch uses uuid_hash as a unique ID to initiate f_fsid value, the 32bits width is enough for

[PATCH v2 1/2] daemon: Reimplement statvfs API in OCaml.
common/mlutils: Unix_utils.StatVFS.statvfs: This commit implements a
full-featured binding for the statvfs(3) function.
We then use this to reimplement the daemon statvfs API in OCaml.
Note that the Gnulib fallback is fixed in this commit. It previously
referenced non-existent field names in the fs_usage struct.

Samba 4 slow write
Hello Ervin,
The in-memory cache lookup could be added back into
samba-4.1.6 by applying the attached patch,
if it could be compiled with Louis how-to steps,
perhaps got the chance to make U14.04 be stayed on samba-4.
Here is my test,
the test-bench is uploading 5000 files and each one is 1MB.
The attached patch could improve 15% at case B).
Case A) Original samba-4.1.6
will go through

[PATCH 0/2] builder: Choose better weights in the planner.
It started out as "this'll be just a simple fix ..."
and turned into something a bit over-engineered in the end.
Here it is anyway.

[PATCH v2 0/2] builder: Choose better weights in the planner.
v1 -> v2:
- Removed the f_type field from StatVFS.statvfs structure.
- New function StatVFS.filesystem_is_remote, written in C.
[Thinking about it, this should probably be called
?is_network_filesystem?, but I can change that before
pushing].
- Use statvfs instead of fstatvfs, and statfs instead of fstatfs.
- Rejigged the comments in builder/builder.ml to make them simpler
