Rename volume?
I noticed that there once was a rename command but it was removed. Do you know why? And is there a way to do it manually?
Thanks!

Rename volume?
Hi!
Is it possible to rename a gluster volume? If so, what is to be done?
(Context: I'm trying to recover from a misconfiguration by copying all contents of a volume to a new one. After that the old volume will be removed and the new one needs to be renamed to the old name.)
Thanks for you help!

DC and shares separation
Hi All,
I've got a Samba4.5.15 server which acts both as an DC and a file
server. I'd like to break the setup into two servers without forcing the
users to redo their mappings and links which point the DC's name or fqdn.
My idea is to rename the DC (hostname and netbios) and assign its old
the another server with shares only. Is it possible to do it safely
without disrupting the

CTDB Error / tcp port 445 not repsonding
Hi,
i need some help. We have two Networks. A CTDB Cluster and one domain controller in the same network. All other domain controller are outside this network. They are both connected with a firewall / router.
We activated netbios over tcp on the other domain controllers outside but it seems that when we remove the single internal domain controller ctdb will not start with the following error.

Upgrade to 4.5 error (SLES 12 SP1)

bomb out on unknown rootflags?
Doing some debugging of my kernel build with ext3 and noticed something
interesting. At the bottom of the rootflags options processing loop
there is a return failure if there was an option that ext3 did not know
about.
Should this be the behaviour? Would it not be better to ignore options
not recognized? Surely, some day, some other filesystem is going to
want to use rootflags to have one of

rootflags argument doesn't work with initrd.
I tried to convert / to ext3, so I went ahead and entered
rootflags=noload,journal=355 on the LILO prompt. The kernel failed to
mount /:
EXT3-fs error (device ramdisk(1,0)): ext3_get_inode_loc: bad inode number: 355
The boot device is a scsi hard disk, so initrd is used to load the scsi
driver, before mounting /. So, it looks like the kernel rootflags= arg
gets applied to the ramdisk, not the

rootflags=data=journal and grub
I hate to bother the list with this, but I am lost.
With our servers that use LILO we use append=rootflags=data=journal.
I have read everything I can find on GRUB, the key is everything I can
find, and I have no idea how perform the
same function in grub.conf

rootflags=data=journal
Hi All,
I'm new to ext3 and I'd like to boot in data=journal mode. I'm running the
latest Debian stable. Where do I put this directive so it happens on every
reboot? In the "append=" line in /etc/lilo.conf? Sorry for the confusion,
but this line isn't clear to me:

You may provide mount options to the root filesystem via LILO using the

[EXT] Replace broken host, keeping the existing bricks
Hi,
The method depends a bit if you use a distributed-only system (like me) or a replicated setting.
I'm using a distributed-only setting (many bricks on different servers, but no replication). All my servers boot via network, i.e., on a start, it's like a new host.
To rescue the old bricks, just set up a new server this the same OS, the same IP and and the same hostname (!very

Replace broken host, keeping the existing bricks
Hi all,
I know there are many tutorials on how to replace a gluster host that has become unusable. But they all seem to assume that the bricks of the respective host are gone, too.
My problem is different and (I hope) more easily solved: the disk with the host?s root file system died and cannot be recovered. However, all of its bricks are on separate disks and completely undamaged.

rid backed not working
Hi All,
I'd like start using 'rid' idmap backed rather than 'tdb' on my member
servers to keep gidNumbers in sync across the realm INCLUDING the DC.
Problem is when I execute
member1# getent group "MPD1\group1"
I get no output. The gidNumbers fall within the range of 30000-60000.
pestparm passes nicely. No erros logged whilst executing getent.
Could anyone point me

Unable to mount loopback devices in RAID mode
Hi!
I recently tried to mount a filesystem in RAID1 mode using loopback devices. I followed the instructions at [1]. Here''s exactly what I''ve done:
