give me some works
hello, Chris In the next several months, I will have a lot of spare time. I will be happy if you assign some work to me. I have learn linux kernel for years but only fix a few small bugs in IP stack. In the past few months, I read some EXT4/VFS codes. I began reading source of btrfs ten days ago and have read it twice now. Regards YZ

[PATCH V2] Btrfs: fix subvolume mount by name problem when default mount subvolume is set
We create two subvolumes (meego_root and meego_home) in btrfs root directory. And set meego_root as default mount subvolume. After we remount btrfs, meego_root is mounted to top directory by default. Then when we try to mount meego_home (subvol=meego_home) to a subdirectory, it failed. The problem is when default mount subvolume is set to meego_root, we search meego_home in meego_root but can not

[PATCH, RFC] btrfs: allow scanning multiple devices during mount
Allows to specify one or multiple device=/dev/foo options during mount so that ioctls on the control device can be avoided. Especially useful when trying to mount a multi-device setup as root. [PATCH 1/2] vfs: re-implement writeback_inodes_sb(_nr)_if_idle() and rename them
writeback_inodes_sb(_nr)_if_idle() is re-implemented by replacing down_read() with down_read_trylock() because - If ->s_umount is write locked, then the sb is not idle. That is writeback_inodes_sb(_nr)_if_idle() needn''t wait for the lock. - writeback_inodes_sb(_nr)_if_idle() grabs s_umount lock when it want to start writeback, it may bring us deadlock problem when doing umount.

[PATCH 0/5] Btrfs: mount error handling fixes
A bunch of fixes (memory leaks, NULL pointer dereferences and devices hanging in busy state) to sanitize error handling during mount sequence. This is on top of for-linus + slyfox''s double-free fix. Thanks, Ilya Ilya Dryomov (5): Btrfs: fix memory leak in btrfs_parse_early_options() Btrfs: fix subvol_name leak on error in btrfs_mount() Btrfs: avoid null dereference and leaks

Volume can not write to data if this volume quota limits capacity and mount itself volume on arm64(aarch64) architecture
Thanks for reading this email?I found a problem while using Glusterfs? First?I created a Distributed Dispersed volume on three nodes?and Limit the volume capacity use quota command?this volume is auto mounted on /run/gluster/VOLUME_NAME. This volume can be read and written normally? After, I manually mounted the volume in another path to provide data storage of SAMBA and ISCSI services, after

[RFC][PATCH] btrfs orphan code
Hello, I want to throw this out here now that I''ve got most of the heavy lifting done for this code to make sure what I''m doing is ok for now. I''ve added an ORPHAN_DIR item key to have a hidden dir per root. Right now it just does it for whatever the default root is on mount, but I''m going to fix that to do the orphan dir check/creation on lookup of a

[PATCH] Btrfs: stop using try_to_writeback_inodes_sb_nr to flush delalloc
try_to_writeback_inodes_sb_nr returns 1 if writeback is already underway, which is completely fraking useless for us as we need to make sure pages are actually written before we go and check if there are ordered extents. So replace this with an open coding of try_to_writeback_inodes_sb_nr minus the writeback underway check so that we are sure to actually have flushed some dirty pages out and will

[PATCH 2/4] Btrfs: fix deadlock on sb->s_umount when doing umount
The reason the deadlock is that: Task Btrfs-cleaner umount() down_write(&s->s_umount) sync_filesystem() do auto-defragment and produce lots of dirty pages close_ctree() wait for the end of btrfs-cleaner start_transaction reserve space shrink_delalloc() writeback_inodes_sb_nr_if_idle()

FS-corruption on ext3 with HTrees
Hi, I'm working with Prof. Zadok on versionfs, a stackable versioning file system. I face some problems with the unlink operation on ext3 with htree. On an unlink, I make a copy of the file (version/backup) and unlink the original file. But some files that have been unlinked are "linked back" to another file. For example, on deleting the file 'foo', the file itself is

[PATCH V3 6/8] Cleancache: btrfs hooks for cleancache
[PATCH V3 6/8] Cleancache: btrfs hooks for cleancache Filesystems must explicitly enable cleancache by calling cleancache_init_fs anytime a instance of the filesystem is mounted and must save the returned poolid. Btrfs uses its own readpage which must be hooked, but all other cleancache hooks are in the VFS layer including the matching cleancache_flush_fs hook which must be called on unmount.

[PATCH 18/18] virtiofs: Remove TODO item from virtio_fs_free_devs()
virtio_fs_free_devs() is now called from ->kill_sb(). By this time all device queues have been quiesced. I am assuming that while ->kill_sb() is in progress, another mount instance will wait for it to finish (sb->s_umount mutex provides mutual exclusion). W.r.t ->remove path, we should be fine as we are not touching vdev or virtqueues. And we have reference on virtio_fs object, so we

However, here is the stack: shrink_dcache_for_umount generic_shutdown_super kill_anon_super nfs_kill_super deactivate_super mntput_no_expire do_exit sys_exit_group

NFS client kernel panic
Hi everyone, I have an issue with NFS client when the NFS client loose connection with the NFS server. In certain conditions the NFS client freeze and the result is kernel panic. It seems that kernel panic occurs when the NFS client try to unmount the unreachable remote NFS partition. This case occurs about one time each two days. CentOS version: CentOS Linux release 7.1.1503 (Core) Kernel
