Problems with idmap_adex module
Hi Guys, I'm having problems getting the new idmap_adex module to work. When using the idmap_adex plugin I get the following: # wbinfo -n administrator S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-500 User (1) # wbinfo -i administrator Could not get info for user administrator As expected attempting to lookup user & group info via commands which use libnss also fail. AD integration and idmap_adex not translating sid-to-uid domain trusts
Hi Guys, I'm setting up a new file server in our domain environment and I'm having problems with the adex configuration/module. I have couple of working file servers using rfc2307/idmap_ad and they are working perfectly. What attracted me to the idmap_adex module is the domain trust/forrest authentication support. I have 2 domains not in the same forest with a 1-way trust setup. The

getent doesn't list my users when using idmap_adex
Hi, I'm trying to integrate an existing linux environment with a Windows AD environment. All my users are already in AD with valid rfc2307 attributes defined so I need a way to authenticate my users using username, uid, gid, shell and homedirectory from AD. I've been using Kerberos+LDAPs before but that requires a dummy AD user hardcoded with username and password in /etc/ldap.conf

Winbind 3.5.4 and SFU
We have Windows 2008R2 domain controllers running 2003 functional level with SFU (i think thats what its called, im not the windows admin :p ) . With Winbind 3.0.33 (on Redhat 5.5) I can get the UIDs/GIDs from AD without issue using: idmap config DOMAIN:backend = ad idmap config DOMAIN:default = yes idmap config DOMAIN:schema_mode = rfc2307 idmap config DOMAIN:range = 10000 - 30000

'allow trusted domains = no' and sidhistory = bad
We are in an environment where several AD domains are being consolidated into one larger domain using sidhistory. The samba winbind configuration is using 'allow trusted domains = no' as we do not care about what is in the other domains (as well as the problem that many of them are unreachable from other locations meaning winbind will choke completely if we don't disallow them). The

Invalid Argument ls dir mounted share
I'm using Fedora Core 6 which uses cifs.mount version 1.10. When mounting shares from a particular Windows 2003 R2 server, I cannot read certain directories. For example, when performing an 'ls' command as follows: [root@backup Admin]# ls /share/CORP-SERVER/C\$/Corp/User\ Files/xxx\ Finacial\ Shared/Admin/Freddie\ Mac/ ls: reading directory /share/CORP-SERVER/C$/Corp/User Files/xxx

FreeBSD Puppet 2.6.1 odd core-dump
Hi, I have a couple of FreeBSD-servers that I try to manage using puppet. I''m just trying it out at the moment and have just deployed 5 new boxes (from PXE and scripted installation so supposedly they are all identical except for the name and ip-addresses). On two of the servers I get the error-messages at the bottom of the post. The first error- message I get every time I run puppet on

explorer.exe 100% CPU, again
Dear all, I posted this problem sometime back on 0.9.26 (http://www.winehq.com/pipermail/wine-users/2006-December/024086.html). I thought the problem was fixed, but it seemed not. >From 0.9.26 all the way to the latest 0.9.30, I've been seeing this problem on my system (Linux flying 2.6.17-11-generic #2 SMP Thu Feb 1 19:52:28 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux; Ubuntu Edgy installed, but running

Kubuntu and Wine Problems
I have run into a few problems in getting applications to work with Kubuntu. I'm running Kubuntu 9.04 and Wine 1.1.23. If installing an application, I get errors during the process and the installation is aborted. If just running certain executables, the Wine Loader shows up in the task bar but the disappears after a few seconds without the application running. I was able to install Call

0.9.47 Tahoma Font Regression?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: RIPEMD160 Hi, - From the Release Notes, I can see that there has been a change regarding new Tahoma font. So I'm suspecting that it caused the following anomaly on my system (if it is caused by other problem, pls do prompt me too): I has been able to render Chinese characters in some Window-based non-Unicode applications (e.g., uTorrent) with the

Removing folder at destination
Hello, Rsync 2.6.9 Mac OS interacting with Windows servers. My Rsync command: rsync -rvz --exclude-from=exclude.txt source destination. I copy large files from server A to server B excluding multiple directories which rsync quickly and beautifully executes. What I end up with at destination is these folders. 01_us_eng... 2_ASSETS 3_web 4_print I manually then move the
