How to load a dataset

I have a dataset called "Chinook Run" saved in Excel and I want it to be loaded everytime R starts, so I can call it with a statement like the one below: qplot(color, Year/Forklength, data = Chinook Run) I wonder how can I do that. I went to the rprofile.site and copied the path to my dataset there and it

What I want to do is to be able to pass the equivalent of the "--force-biarch" option to check, but this is only supported for INSTALL. Background: I'm writing a package (RNetica) which forms a link between R and a third-party library (Netica.dll). The vendor supplies

hardware issues and new server advice
Excerpts from Strahil Nikolov's message of 2023-03-24 21:11:28 +0000: > Gluster excells when you have more servers and clients to consume that data. you mean multiple smaller servers are better than one large server? > LVM cache (NVMEs) we only have a few clients. gluster is for us effectively only a scalable large file storage for one application. new files are written once and then

Work around Linux kernel bug provoked by nchan.c
The Linux implementation of TCP sockets has a bug which causes shutdown(sock, SHUT_RD) to fail spuriously (ENOTCONN) if the write side of the socket has already been shut down. If you are using SSH port forwarding to tunnel HTTP through a firewall, nchan.c will tickle this bug once for every HTTP exchange. You will therefore get lots of useless, annoying error messages: channel 2:

patch: readline support for sftp
Hello, I hope this is the right place to post this. I added readline support to the sftp client. It adds optional --with-readline parameter for configure to enable this feature. You'll of course need to re-run autoheader and autoconf after applying this patch. It's patched against 3.4p1 but should work with any recent openssh. It works fine for me (GNU/Linux) - feel free to test it and
