cache-busting non-digest assets in sprockets in development a good idea? should headers in sprockets be configurable?
Just monkey patched Sprockets in our Rails 3.2.9 app to override the
Cache-Control header for html assets that we need to tweak more often in
development, but that we don''t want to use digests/fingerprinting with:
# Sprockets 2.x patch
if Rails.env.development?

module Server

creating a world map of eco-climatic zones
Hello R users:
I would like to produce a world map with countries colored according to whether
they fall into one of 7 eco-climatic zones. For simplicity, each country is
allocated to exactly 1 eco-climatic zone. For this purpose I have looked at the
map and mapdata packages, which contain world maps composed of polygons (1 for
each country, it seems). Each of the polygons can be referred to by a

Parameterized ActiveRecord Associations: Any such thing?
Hi list, how are ya?
So, my current project is just begging for the ability to have
parameterized associations in my ActiveRecord classes. Basically I
need something that is a cross between named scopes and standard
associations (has_many specifically).
I''m wondering if such a thing exists or, if not, if anyone else has an
elegant, equivalent solution?
Example:

Sprocket Digest + Debug combination broken?
Hi all,
we''re just in the process of upgrading to the new asset pipeline, but I''m
having an annoying issue with Sprockets.
It turns out that I can''t enable both *debug* and *digest* in development
mode. When I do, I get a Errno::ENAMETOOLONG because the digest becomes the
*entire* *content* of the file instead of a hex. I get this with both sass
and javascript.

[R-sig-eco] How to create axes in arbitrary positions?
Dear Zongshan Li,
I'm forwarding this back to r-help ... it's generally best to keep the
conversation going in public, so that (a) other people can chime in with
ideas and suggestions, (b) your question doesn't get lost if the
original respondent doesn't have time to deal with it, (c) the answers
are archived for future reference.

JST paths differ between development and production
In development my templates are available under
JST["javascripts/templates/..."], but in production the common
"javascripts/" prefix is ignored and the templates are stored under
JST["templates/..."] instead.
Simply doing a `rake assets:precompile` for production.
Any ideas?
