puppet-dashboard - rake API not working
Hello all,
I am quite new to the puppet arena, but I am really impressed with puppet
as a tool and the possibilities it gives you with regards to managing many
systems.
I am running dashboard 1.2.14 and am trying to query via the rake API:
http://docs.puppetlabs.com/dashboard/manual/1.2/rake_api.html
when I do, I get the following error:

Correct Use or Naming of Migrations
Hi Folks,
There is much discussion where I work at present regarding migrations, and
the ''correct'' usage or not of them.
TL;DR
Should migrations be used just to modify schema, and other ''deploy'' tasks
done other ways? If yes, how to ensure no repeat runs of such tasks
(seeds, jobs etc)

Once you''re live there are often additional things

RSpec, shoulda-matchers and Rails model attributes validations
I was trying out RSpec framework in a project and got stopped doing the unit
test of a model. In particular, doing the test for the associations and the
ActiveRecord validations.
I started writing the validations but my tests didn''t look DRY at all.
Before refactoring the tests checked out and look for other people
solutions.
I found out shoulda-matchers and Shoulda (which if I

shoulda installation troubles
I cannot manage to have shoulda working.
I''m using rvm with rails 3.1 and ruby 1.9.2
I added
group :test do
gem "shoulda"
end
to the Gemfile, and then run bundle install, thus the gem is installed,
and it is featured in the list running gem list --local.
but whenever I add something like

shoulda tested better
We''ve made quite a few contributions in our facebooker fork (http://github.com/collectiveidea/facebooker
), but unfortunately, one thing some of our contributions have in
common with many others is the lack of testing. I want to change
that. I''d like to help lead an effort to make the facebooker tests
better.
One thing that I think would help is a little better

redcloth executable removed from gem?
Hello,
I have the RedCloth 4.x gem installed on a new machine. I used to
use the redcloth command line tool/executable ocassionally. Can anyone
clarify if it''s still part of the RedCloth 4.x gem series? Thanks.
PS: I checked the sources. And the executable source resides in bin

rails-1.0.0 gem rdoc problem
Just got a brand new install of ruby-1.8.4 and new gems downloaded,
specifically rails-1.0.0. Seems rails does not generated rdoc for gem_server.
Looking into the problem, it seems that there is an error when doing ''rake rdoc''
for rails-1.0.0.
% rake rdoc
(in /opt/local/ruby-1.8.4/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rails-1.0.0)

gem install of mongrel v 1.1.5 broken in jruby
Can''t install the latest mongrel (1.1.5) in JRuby (jruby revisions
ranging from 6600 to 6750[trunk] checked) -- the platform is not
being identified and it''s trying to do native compilation.
I''m not sure it''s actually a problem with Mongrel or JRuby however --
perhaps there isn''t a mongrel-1.1.5-java.gem on rubyforge?

Shoulda issue: no more "should have_instance_methods" ?
I''m using Shoulda.
After copying the code here....
.... http://joshuaclayton.github.com/code/2009/07/14/should-act-as-list.html....
into my test_helper file so I can test acts_as_list, I came across
issues. For one I realized I had to get rid of the _ between the
"should" and "have" in past cases, but here, I get this error when I
run my unit test:
