Hitting 500 status code on invalid UTF-8 byte sequence in params
Hello Core, Background: with Redmine-1.2 on Rails-2.3.11 we''re experiencing a "500 Internal Server Error" every time a mail with invalid UTF-8 byte sequence is hitting the MailHandler (the exception comes from the DB complaining about invalid string in the INSERT statement.) Since we do care about internal errors we''ve installed exception_notification plugin and this

actionpack-3.0.3/lib/action_dispatch/middleware/rescue.rb
I was trying to understand how exceptions are caught. There are two rescue.rb files. One is under ActionController. I understand how it is invoked and what it does. But the one under action_dispatch I don''t see how it gets used. I see the autoload for it in actionpack-3.0.3/lib/action_dispatch.rb but I don''t see a Rescue class created anywhere. Can someone help me to

Should to_io be added to ActionDispatch::Http::UploadedFile?
In rest-client/rest-client#144<https://github.com/rest-client/rest-client/issues/144#issuecomment-14876580> we''re trying to handle objects that behave like IO. Some have suggested that respond_to?(:read) is a poor test of this and have suggested using IO.try_covert(obj) instead. My counter example for this is ActionDispatch::Http::UploadedFile. I''m wondering if there

[PATCH] ActionDispatch MemCacheStore violates encapsulation principle
When pass :cache param to ActionDispatch::Session::MemCacheStore, it should be removed from options, otherwise it remains "published". This violates the OOP encapsulation principle. I created a LH ticket with a patch http://bit.ly/cGDaWs Luca -- lucaguidi.com twitter.com/jodosha -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails:

Looks like an error in docs for ActionDispatch::Routing::Mapper::Resources
Please take a look at this page: http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActionDispatch/Routing/Mapper/Resources.html#method-i-resource It reads: :path Set a path prefix for this resource. resources :posts, :path => "admin" All actions for this resource will now be at /admin/posts. For me (Rails 3.0.9) it routes to just "/admin", not "/admin/posts".

rake spec controller test output hideus.
Is there any way to change the output of rake spec fails? The errors are just totally over the top ugly and not helpful. First of all the ruby -Ilib line always comes before each test and I find it distracting. But if an error occurs on something that is not nil it just gives me the entire contents of that object and that is no small matter when the object is a HTTP request response. Here is

How to retrieve a FileBlob from 'ActionDispatch::Http::UploadedFile' instance?
I have used ''remotipart'' gem to upload files asynchronously to server side. The instance passed to the server side is of ''UploadedFile'' . The Rails API mentions all the methods( like read(), open() ) and attributes for the class, however I am not sure how to retrieve the File and store it on the database. The documentation hardly says anything. Googling
