page caching urls with space characters broken in webrick and mongrel
Page caching of urls with spaces in them using WEBrick and Mongrel is
broken in Edge Rails (and Rails 1.1.6, where I started). This is due
to the dispatch flow of control in both servers converting ''+'' in
requested paths into '' '' chars, whereas the page caching system writes
cache files for URLs with spaces in them out as encoded ''+''

Routing optimization, named routes and default url options
I came across this when switching from rails 1.2.6 to 2.0.2, there is
a change in the way routes are generated between these to version due
to the routing optimization in rails 2.0.2.
In version 1.2.6 it was possible to overwrite the default_url_options
method in ActionController::Base to define parameters attached to each
generated url.
Due to the routing optimization in rails 2.0.2 this is not

Ticket #5038 ActiveResource not handling updates correctly
https://rails.lighthouseapp.com/projects/8994-ruby-on-rails/tickets/5038-activeresource-not-handling-updates-correctly
I just added this ticket. I''m writing a Sinatra API to be consumed by
Rails and I''ve run into an issue where the ActiveResource
documentation specifies that on update you should return an HTTP 204
status with no body. The problem is that Rack doesn''t

Ticket 6953: Support Method Not Allowed Responses
Hi,
I was wondering if someone wouldn''t mind looking at ticket 6953
and committing it if everything looks ok:
http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/6953
This patch properly handles setting the Allow header and the
proper status code when an HTTP method is used that a resource
doesn''t support or understand.

Ticket #7124
http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/7124
I just attached a patch against 1.2 that cleanly applies to trunk too.
This allows functional and integration tests to have the same
interface to the xhr/xml_http_request method. The patch also includes
a deprecation workaround when called without the appropriate
parameters.
If the patch could also be applied to the 1.2 branch, I would appreciate.

Any plans to fix Ticket #6951
Hi,
I''m curious if there are plans or a timeline to fix ticket #6951. This
issue is causing us problems and preventing us from easily upgrading our app
to Rails 1.2.2. Suggestions for workarounds are also welcome.
Thanks,
Jim

Ticket 5063: Typo in named_scope in activerecord tests category.rb
Hey all,
Does someone want to look over a super-trivial patch I just
submitted? It''s just correcting a typo; someone accidentally spelled
"group_by_title" as "gruop_by_title" in the category.rb model in the
activerecord tests. I just fixed it in the model, and in the two
places it''s referenced in the habtm test.
Thanks,
Ben

Patch review request: validates_numericality_of does not replace option in custom message like in default message
Hi,
Today someone created a ticket for a defect in
validates_numericality_of, at first sight i thought it wasn''t a defect
but an enhancement. But then i found that validates_length_of accepts
:message => "should be greater than %d", but validates_numericality_of
doesn''t (The output for v_n_o is: "should be greater than %d" instead
of "should be

Getting no ticket cache from pam_winbind
Hi all,
I'm trying to get pam_winbind to create ticket cache on login if the AD is available.
Please note that this is an Ubuntu Lucid system.
When trace this with wireshark it receives a TGT ticket for the user.
The current solution is to use pam_krb5 before attempting winbind. That gives me a ticket cache.
The main problem is that if the user enters the wrong password it does two login

Failed to establish your Kerberos Ticket cache due time differences with the domain controller
Hai,
I've reading this thread more closely.
I suggest you try the followoing.
Check the servers hardware clock in the bios first.
Set these within 5 min, if they are not about the same.
Run : dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
Check/set the correct timezones on both servers, and both servers should show you the same date/time and (optional) zone.
Run : ntpq -p
Check the offset on both servers.

DRYing link_to with a symbol
Hi, I just put in a patch that allows you to DRY up this:
<%= link_to @company.name, @company %>
to this:
<%= link_to :name, @company %>
The symbol indicates the method to be called on the object passed in
the link_to options.
