scriptaculous fade problem
Been googling trying to find a workaround, with no luck yet ... I hope
y''all can help.
My goal is to have a semi-transparent background screen on a DIV which
will fade in and out over another DIV with a photo for a background.
currently I have background-image: url(screen.png) which is a 32x32
PNG24 filled with white at 35% opacity. The problem is that as the div
is fading-in, IE

3 prototype/scriptaculous effects in order on one <div>
What I am trying to do is fade out the content in a certain <div> load
new content while its black then fade in the new content but im lost.
I need it to go like this...
Effect.Fade,Ajax.Update,Effect.Appear
but everytime I try to do it it just trys to do all of them at once,
how do I go about making the effects wait on the previous one before it
starts?

Scriptaculous: Newbie question - Effect.fade
Hi there,
Is it possible to do an effect.fade without removing the hidden document
from the flow when in becomes invisible?
I have a line of images (initially all invisible)
[] [] [] [] []
And a list of links
- link 1
- link 2
- link 3
- link 4
- link 5
And what I want to happen is to have the images appear on link mouseover
and disappear on mouseout but for the images to maintain their

Hide parent element
I have some code that calls a partial to display one or more blocks
within a div tag. I want to have a close button (or cancel link) that
will fade that block but leave the others. Here is the code:

I''m pretty new to javascript, and scriptaculous, but I know what I want
to do.
I want to make it so that when a person clicks a link, the previous
content of the div fades out, and the new content fades in.

Scriptaculous Help (page exit effects)
I was wondering if it was possible in Prototype/Scriptaculous to run
an effect when a link is clicked, then go to that page, or if it was
possible to have an effect run when the page unloads.
I have tried <body onunload="new Effect.Fade("whatever");> and some
prototype page exit events, could get a alert("") function to work,
but not the effects. Any ideas?

does anyone know of or would be interesting in writing a program that is an
alarm clock for your computer that plays ogg vorbis files? i used to have
one that played mp3z before i heard about vorbis, but it got trashed

Error in prototype.js ......var value = element.style[style];
Hi,
I have a script that throws an error in prototype.js on line 1889. Its
just started showing...it''s not breaking my app at all just showing
the error. I can''t track back to where it started happening though.

I can not get any scriptaculous effects to finish with items visible

Having dsync to make backups from existing mail-spaces, it would be nice
to make dsync syncing the sieve-dirs too. -Otherweise backups aren't

anyone interested in an Effect.Slideshow?
I had to make a sort of slideshow for a site I''m working on, and I was
thinking of making it into a Scriptaculous object. Anyone think of

I have some code that will do the highlight, fade effect on a block of
text. It seems to work just fine until it is fired multiple times very
rapidly.
The end color matches a grey background and the start color is a yellow.
Say its run 4 times a second for 3-5 seconds. When the flashing catches

Behaviour and scriptaculous
I have a <div> that I want to toggle its visibility. I have "hide"
text which makes it hide an makes the text "show" visible.
My problem is I don''t want the "hide" text to display if javascript is
disabled. So it starts out as display:none. I can then make it
visible by window.onload.
