[prototype] [BUG] Event.stop doesn''t stop all keystrokes on some browsers
attached is an html file I used to test the bug. the top text box should not
allow you to type anything, not tab, not enter, nothing. bottom text box
should work fine.
requires prototype.js and includes jslog for jslog.info although it only
occurs in one place, I just wanted to make sure the event was firing without
having to use alerts :)

PeriodicalExecuter stops when form is submitted in Safari 3
Hi I''m having a problem using PeriodicalExecuter with a form.
I have a monitoring pane that updates status of form processing,
and it stops working when I submit a form. It works with Safari 2,
IE, Firefox, but not with Safari 3.
I''ve made a test script: http://www.charmm-gui.org/test.html
It updates a textarea, but it stops updating when the form is
submitted in Safari 3. Any

prototype.js: Safari issues with 1.5.0 rc1
I''m using scriptaculous, which requires prototype 1.5.0, and comes with
1.5.0 rc1.
However, on page load and when any form is submitted, Safari is getting
caught at line 1320, with
ReferenceError: Can''t find variable: HTMLFormElement.
Tested with Safari 2.0.4 and latest WebKit nightly (r16463).
Perhaps there is a newer rc? I can''t seem to find anything at all in

[Urgent] Help: Safari/Konqueror issue with absolute div initially hidden
Hi all,
I have this project due tomorrow night (yes, it''s a Sunday...), and
only one trick bug left, which only occurs on Safari 2 and Konqueror
(3.5.2). I guess the Webcore/KHTML common tree goes here...
You''ll find a test page online:

Prototype Safari onSubmit Issues
Hi folks. Another Prototype question.
I have a simple ajax form which I want to return results on an
onChange. Works in IE6 (Win) and FF, but Safari doesn''t seem to take
the onChange too well. Upon the return key, it blanks out the form.
Upon tabbing to the next field (actually the next form), I get the
results.

Ajax.Autocompleter fadeoff when scrolling the list in IE and Safari
Hi All:
I have a very large user table, more than 2.000, so i cant use a
<select> to present the users list any more.
I replace the <select> with a <input> using Ajax.Autocompleter
If we type "john" or "peter" we still get a very long list, so the
list shows the scroll bar, and its ok.
The problem is that when we try to scroll, the list fades out.

Bug with Ajax.Autocompleter in Safari 2.0.3?
Hello All,
I''ve run across something that looks like a bug and wanted to throw
it out there for anyone else''s input before I submit a bug report and
patch. This is only observed in Safari 2.0.3 with Mac OS X 10.4.5 - I
haven''t tried any other versions of Safari.
I''ve got 2 fields:
text input 1
text input 2 with autocomplete
If you:

why is the result of expr. Ajax.InPlaceEditor not an object in Safari
hi guys.
i''m really thrilled about the in-place editor and rahul''s additions/
examples at http://www.instituteofthefuture.org/js/inplace.php
i know that this "mozilla only" script will eventually get fixed and
be usable in safari as well, but i can''t wait, so i''ve tried to poke

scriptaculous 1.5.1 and problems with safari 2.0.2
Just upgraded to 1.5.1 and an old bug showed its ugly head in safari:
I''m downloading some content via ajax updater and on success feeding a
div with the content and using Effect.Appear on it.
Works in mozilla flavored browsers and IE 6 but on safari just after
the effect stops the div goes mental and looses its position -
apparently safari sets it to top:0 left:0 but doesn''t

new Ajax.Updater($(''toppanel''), ''/ajax/form.php'', {
parameters: {},

insertion: Insertion.Before

form.php encoding is utf-8. page encoding is also utf-8.
Why response encoding is broken in Safari?

safari vs. firefox on mac os x: flickering combination effects
Hi.
I''m wondering if this is a documented problem. Combination effects
such as .BlindDown or .SlideDown exhibit a not so fun flicker at the
end of their rendering process in Firefox on Mac OS X. This does NOT
happen in Safari.
Does anybody know how to fix this or if it will get fixed in a next
release?
All best,
Tench
