Ajax.Request: onFailure vs. onException
Hello All, I''m trying to capture the exception message that my server application is providing in response to my Ajax.Request. However, I''m confused as to when onFailure is fired vs. onException. The onException handler has access to the javascript exception object and I''d understood that it was only called when the dispatch fails. Not sure what exactly that means

AJAX Exception just started with Safari and Firefox on OS X, no problem on other machines
Hello all, I have been developing some ajax stuff all week. Just this morning the ajax calls quit working in Safari, and Firefox. I backed out to a last known working state and they still were not working, so I added some handlers to see if I could sniff out the problem. ... onException: function(transport){$ ("serversaid").innerHTML=transport.toJSONString();}, onFailure:

PeriodicalUpdater onComplete broken?
Using the PeriodicalUpdater, I''m finding the onComplete is not firing. I thought I''d get some feedback here before filing a bug report. http://ianty.com/updater/update_test_1.6.0.1.html http://ianty.com/updater/update_test_1.6.0.html The above are examples of this for prototype 1.6.0 & 1.6.0.1. I''m expecting the onComplete to fire after the update takes place, per

Prototype 1.6.0.2 + Firefox 3 Enumerable problems
I am using Prototype 1.6.0.2 on Firefox 3.0b4. The following does not work when I enter it in Firebug: $A([1,2,3,4]).each(function(n) {alert(n);}); The above is just an example. Any array, using $A and any enumerable method, returns the following: TypeError: iterator.bind is not a function Seems like some objects are not being extended correctly? Using Prototype 1.5.0 on Firefox 3.0b4, this

Ajax.Updater from within an IFrame
Hello together. I''m trying to call an Ajax.Updater from within an IFrame to update an element in the parent window. It is working, but I receive an error from Firefox when I do so. What I want to do is to upload a file, and then after the file has completed uploading, automatically reload a section of the page with information about the file to post-process it. However, AJAX

RE: Prototype: correct useage of onCompletewithAjax.PeriodicalUpdater
The only call that PeriodicalUpdater will make periodically to you is the insertion call. I think of onComplete as being ''I''ve done everything I was going to do'', which for Updater is right after it''s done a single update, but for PeriodicalUpdater, it''s after it''s finished all of its updates, so you''ll only get it once for any call

RE: Prototype: correct useage of onComplete withAjax.PeriodicalUpdater
>From a quick look at the source code, it looks like onComplete is only called when the whole thing is done - in the case of Updater, right after the update, in the case of PeriodicalUpdater, right after it has been stopped. It looks like you need to pass your callback method as an ''insertion'' method in the options. This takes two parameters, the first will probably be the

code for double sum
Hi R-users,   I wrote a code to evaluate double sum as follows:   ff2 <- function(bb,eta,z,k) { r <- length(z) for (i in 1:r) { sm1 <- sum((z[i]*bb/2)*(psigamma((0:k)+eta+1,deriv=0)/(factorial(0:k)*gamma((0:k)+eta+1))))  sm2 <- sum((besselI(z[i]*bb,eta)*log(z[i]*bb/2) - sm1)/besselI(z[i]*bb,eta))  sm2 } ff2(bb,eta,z,10)     but it gave me the following message:   >

Prototype $A not defined
Hello, I apologize for posting prototype related email to this list, yet I have not seen any reference to email or list on the prototype web site and I know the author of that library is part of the rails development team so I am trying to reach him. Basically I have installed "FireBug" which is a javascript/html/css/dom debugger for firefox and since I plugged prototype.js and

Prototype: correct useage of onComplete with Ajax.PeriodicalUpdater
Hello all, I know it''s a Prototype question, but I hope someone can tell me what I''m doing wrong (I hope Prototype gets documented soon ;-( Problem: using a onComplete callback with Ajax.PeriodicalUpdater (using scriptaculous 1.5 with Prototype 1.4) Works: function fooBar() { Element.hide(''foobar''); } new

Aggregate with non-scalar function
R-Helpers, I'm sorry to have to ask this -- I've not used R very much in the last 8 or 10 months, and I've gotten rusty. monotonic GAM with more than one term
Hi, Does anyone know how to fit a GAM where one or more smooth terms are constrained to be monotonic, in the presence of "by" variables or other terms? I looked at the example in ?pcls but so far have not been able to adapt it to the case where there is more than one predictor. For example, require(mgcv) set.seed(0) n<-100 # Generate data from a monotonic truth.

Ajax.Responders.register: onFailure not working
Hello together. I''ve tried to register an onFailure behavior for all my Ajax.Requests and .Updaters to handle a session-based timout system. On each server request via Ajax there is a check whether the user hasn''t made something for the last x minutes, and if he hasn''t, the php page throws an 403 forbidden header (via header("HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden")). I am
