Ajax.Request: onFailure vs. onException
Hello All,
I''m trying to capture the exception message that my server application
is providing in response to my Ajax.Request. However, I''m confused as
to when onFailure is fired vs. onException. The onException handler has
access to the javascript exception object and I''d understood that it was

AJAX Exception just started with Safari and Firefox on OS X, no problem on other machines

I have been developing some ajax stuff all week. Just this morning
the ajax calls quit working in Safari, and Firefox. I backed out to a
last known working state and they still were not working, so I added
some handlers to see if I could sniff out the problem.

status = 200 something wrong???
Hello everyone. I have 2 methods on server: first is the redirect
method that redirect http request on second method and returnig
code 302 and that second method -> that returning data. I use
AJAX to call first method, then Ajax request is redirect to
second method and the second method return data which i can use.
And afterall I get status 200 from xmlHttpResponse object. Is it
right?

PeriodicalUpdater onComplete broken?
Using the PeriodicalUpdater, I''m finding the onComplete is not firing.
I thought I''d get some feedback here before filing a bug report.

Prototype 1.6.0.2 + Firefox 3 Enumerable problems
I am using Prototype 1.6.0.2 on Firefox 3.0b4.
The following does not work when I enter it in Firebug:
$A([1,2,3,4]).each(function(n) {alert(n);});
The above is just an example. Any array, using $A and any enumerable
method, returns the following:
TypeError: iterator.bind is not a function
Seems like some objects are not being extended correctly?

transportXML returns null?
Hi,
I want to load an XHTML file into DOM. I issue Ajax.Request and on
success do:
var response=transport.responseXML
Response is null. On the other hand:
var response=transport.responseText; // has the data.
Why is response=transport.responseXML returns null?

Ajax.Updater from within an IFrame
Hello together.
I''m trying to call an Ajax.Updater from within an IFrame to update an
element in the parent window.
It is working, but I receive an error from Firefox when I do so.
What I want to do is to upload a file, and then after the file has
completed uploading, automatically reload a section of the page with
information about the file to post-process it.

I think of onComplete as being ''I''ve done everything I was going to do'',

Firebug says this:

if I use a single $ the the hide() function seems to work...

Yet another periodicalupdater question
I have something I want to do with the periodicalupdater..
1) place text in a field by id (I know how to do this part as
periodicalupdater makes is quite easy)
2) run a javascript statement to assign a value to a variable.
Any ideas how I can do this with one periodicalupdater statement?

monotonic GAM with more than one term

Does anyone know how to fit a GAM where one or more smooth terms are
constrained to be monotonic, in the presence of "by" variables or
other terms? I looked at the example in ?pcls but so far have not been
able to adapt it to the case where there is more than one predictor.
