event.keyCode broken in prototype?
I ran 2 tests. One using proto''s Event.observe, and another using an
in-line handler of the "keydown" event in a textbox.
Using .bindAsEventListener, the event.keyCode is always returning a
capital letter, no matter what. The in-line event handler returns
lowercase vs. uppercase correctly... What''s going on?
I guess I find it hard to believe no one has tried

[PATCH server] updated anyterm/ovirt integration
host static anyterm content locally,
url parameterize anyterm rows/cols/general param
update spec/makefile
Ideally I wanted and tried hard to put all this into a
seperate ovirt-server--anyterm subpackage, but we cannot
'reopen' the ovirt server virtual host defined in
ovirt-server.conf to add the neccessary rewrite rules. it would
be nice to figure out a way to do this

Event.observe problem
Hi everyone!
I came across and interesting problem with prototype Event.observe.
Take this code for example:
<script type="text/javascript" src="cropper/lib/prototype.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript"><!--
function handler(e) {
if (document.all) { e = window.event; }
var key;
if (document.layers) key = e.which;

Pointer position on keypress event?
Hi.
Is there any straightforward way to tell pointer position (x, y)
upon keypress? In original wxWidgets, wxKeyEvent supports GetX()
and GetY() methods, but wxRuby''s KeyEvent object does not have
one. I also checked with event.methods and event.instance_variables.
Do I need to keep track of pointer position by evt_motion?

Autocompleter enhancement feature request
Hello,
I have created a ticket for an enhancement of the autocompleter to show the
options immediately when the field gets focus. Right now at least one
character must be typed for autocomplete to kick in.
http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/5435
I have also made some code changes directly in the script
Event.observe(this.element, "blur", this.onBlur.bindAsEventListener(this));

[PATCH] Allow generic autocompleter (Ajax.Watcher)
Hey. Below is a patch to allow generic Ajax.Autocompleters. Basically
it''s for people who wanna be able to watch an input for changes, but
don''t want it to pop up an autocompleter box below. Useful for live
previews, that kind of thing.
Someone''s gonna have to fix the tabstops. I couldn''t be arse to work out
how to make vim do the softtabs properly. Spaces for

Event.Observer - (was: Ajax.Autompleter not working on IE)
See if I can stir up a little life with a demo. I can''t believe that
Ajax.Autocomplete doesn''t work on IE, so I *must* be doing something
wrong.
Trying to figure this out I added some alerts to control.js and it
seems that IE is not getting the onkeypress events.
So, here''s a demo:
http://hank.org/demos/form.html
That contains two fields with onkeypress events:

[prototype] [BUG] Event.stop doesn''t stop all keystrokes on some browsers
attached is an html file I used to test the bug. the top text box should not
allow you to type anything, not tab, not enter, nothing. bottom text box
should work fine.
requires prototype.js and includes jslog for jslog.info although it only
occurs in one place, I just wanted to make sure the event was firing without
having to use alerts :)
tested browsers/platforms:
opera: mac / win / lin:

Drag/Drop and KeyPress
Hi!
is it possible to make a drag dependent on a KeyPress event? I couldn''t
find any information on that on the script.aculo.us website.
My scenario is the following:
I have a tree with several nodes (like windows explorer). Right now i
use Drag & Drop to move a node below a new parent.
Now i want to implement a copy mechanism which allows the user to copy a
node through Drag

Backspace key is sending Delete after update to 4.4 (tcsh issue?)
Maybe it was always sending Delete and I didn't notice it, but I have
had the following in my .tcshrc file for ages (without realizing it):
bindkey -b ^? i-search-back
Before the update to 4.4, hitting the backspace key at the shell
prompt deleted the previous character. Now it activates the search
backwards function as instructed to do so by the bindkey directive.

getGraphicsEvent on X11 and event queuing
Hi R-Devel,
I've been working on an oscilloscope project using an Arduino
microcontroller board. I found that it's quite easy to get realtime
updates, e.g. 30+ frames per second, if I read data from the board in
a little Rcpp library. I have to use dev.hold() and dev.flush() to
keep the plot from flickering, which restricts me to the "cairo" X11
device.
I'd like to be able

Disable autocomplete (Ajax.Autocompleter) on the fly.
I''m sure there is an easy way to do this, but it is one of those things
that is incredibly difficult to search for.
How can I disable an ''Ajax.Autocompleter'' element from working ''on the
fly''? I have a page where I''m using two (I know it''s crazy)
Ajax.Autocompleter elements and once one of them has got a result I
want the other field

Catching "keypress" event with observe_field
I''m desperately trying to update a div when a key is pressed in a text
field.
Eg. :

:area, :with => "text_param", :on => ''keypress'' %>

Small doubts with clonePosition, Keypress and this
Hello Guys,
I comes to try to clarify some small doubts, I''m trying to create a
function that, if I positioned over this, create a box around the
cell, but I don''t want to alter values of style, I think that a good
way is create a floating table with the same dimensions, to do this, I
found "Position": overlap but says it''s obsolete, then I found
