Prototype, JSON and headers
Hi everyone.
I love JSON and using Prototype has help me reduce the code to handle
AJAX responses.
But one thing keeps me confused and sometimes even frustrated.
I don''t really understand what is going on with the headers, so if
someone could take some time to explain what is going on, I (and
probably a lot more people) would be very thankful.
The thing is this. On my local server (Mac OS

prototype: problem w/ toQueryParams() in version 1.5.1
Hello All,
I can''t seem to get toQueryParams() to function in version 1.5.1.
Doesn''t seem to be creating a Hash. The following produces no
results. I understood there were some issues w/ this in earlier
versions, but that they had been resolved in 1.5+. Can someone help
me?
Thanks!

Deploying in subdir w/ Apache and Mongrel
Hi all,
I have been searching for the past 2 or 3 days on how to deploy my
rails apps within subdirectories (ie: http://www.domain.com/myapp or
even domain.com/rails/myapp) and have found a few tutorials, but all
have left something out it seems. I would like to do this rather than
http://myapp.domain.com/ since it will be usd internally and I have no
real direct access to dns to make the

Small doubts with clonePosition, Keypress and this
Hello Guys,
I comes to try to clarify some small doubts, I''m trying to create a
function that, if I positioned over this, create a box around the
cell, but I don''t want to alter values of style, I think that a good
way is create a floating table with the same dimensions, to do this, I
found "Position": overlap but says it''s obsolete, then I found

non-bubbling mouseover/mouseout
First, I have only played with Prototype for about a month, so I don''t
know it well. Second, I am more of a server-side programmer than a
client-side programmer.
In my page, I have a div that appears as a result of a link mouseover
event. This div is nested within another div that houses everything
(id = ''menuContainer''). I want the resulting div (which is a submenu)

[scriptaculous] scroll down to show full auto completion list (w/ possible patch)
Hi everyone,
lately I''ve implemented an auto completion textfield at the bottom of a
form. I was a bit bothered by the fact that the user would potentially
need to scroll down in order to see all the options offered by the auto
completion. I couldn''t find any information on how to auto scroll to the
auto completion list with bulit-in functionality so I modified

sortables w/ hoverclass
Good hello.
I'm confused by the 'hoverclass' option that can be passed to Sortable.create
It works with Droppables.add but (for me) it doesn't seem to do
anything when used with Sortables. (afaik Sortable.create just calls
Droppables.add and passes the hoverclass option through- or at least
it's supposed to)
Not sure if it's broken in the current svn script.aculo.us but

Can't load swf files with Ajax.updater
Hello,
When I use the normal object tags to embed a swf file, the flash file
turns out blank by using the ajax.updater function to load a swf file
(both IE and FF). With swfobject nothing comes up at all.
Is this a bug or is there another (better) way to load a flash file by
using updater?
Thanks in advance!

Prototype: toggle() not supported on TD in IE?
The following line causes trouble both with IE 6&7:
cels[i].toggle();
It tells me that this element does not support the property or method.
The element is a cell (TD) which I checked by outputting the tagName
and it works with FF, Opera and Safari.
The IE script debugger stops at this line but I didn''t find a single
posting on the net with a similar problem which is kind of strange.

Site Launch w/ Scriptaculous
Hey all,
We (http://www.weblinc.com) just launched a new site in which I have used
the scriptaculous library in a few places.
check out http://www.smashbox.com
scriptaculous was used in creating the zoom controls on the product detail
pages, and was also used with the sliding paginator on the product browse
pages (some serious reworking is in progress on that, but it works). its

Ajax Response responseXML is null in IE
This may be a Prototype question but is probably a general JavaScript
question. I am creating an Ajax.Request and getting back a response
that should be evaluated as XML. But in IE, in my onSuccess function,
the response.responseXML object is null. In Firefox it works
properly.
I have checked the three things that are supposed to determine whether
the browser interprets the response text as
