Best way to instanciate an empty address element in many nested fields_for
Hi! I have 3 models, User, Company and Address. Basically, a User belongs to a Company and an Address has one Company (because it can be linked to other models). In a form I want to display a User, its Company and its company Address, with fields_for. The problem is when my User has a Company, that does *not* have an Address: the part containing the Address is not displayed. I see 2 ways of

[PATCH v2 3/6] drm/fb-helper: Instanciate shadow FB if configured in device's mode_config
Generic framebuffer emulation uses a shadow buffer for framebuffers with dirty() function. If drivers want to use the shadow FB without such a function, they can now set prefer_shadow or prefer_shadow_fbdev in their mode_config structures. The former flag is exported to userspace, the latter flag is fbdev-only. Signed-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann at suse.de> ---

Kerry/Edwards campaign and VOIP
I am trying find a way to help the local Kerry campaign and it occurs to me that VOIP and Asterisk could be a big help. I have never worked on a presidential campaign before but I think they must be very telephone call intensive. Using VOIP to connect local, regional and national campaign offices and to keep volunteers in touch with each other would save lots of money that could be spent on

bind vs. bind-chroot
Hi, On my public servers, I usually run BIND for DNS. I see CentOS offers a preconfigured (sort of) bind-chroot package. I wonder what's the effective benefit of this vs. a "normal" BIND setup without chroot. On my Slackware servers, I have a rather Keep-It-Simple approach to all things security, e. g. run no unneed services, open only needed ports etc. but I don't run the extra

Best inode_ratio for maildir++ on ext4
Hi, This might be a silly question: which would be the best inode ratio for a 5 Tb filesystem dedicated to Maildir++ storage? I use ubuntu server, which has a preconfigured setting for mkfs.ext4 called "news" with inode_ratio = 4096, and after formating the fs with that setting and then with the defautl setting I see this difference of space (wasted space, but more inodes): 4328633696

Isolate VMs' network
All, I'm trying to setup a network with some virtual machines, that can connect to each other and to the internet, but neither to the host nor to other VMs. Is there any preconfigured network filter or best-practice for this setup? Of course, I could setup iptables rules on the host, but I'd prefer libvirt to handle them. - Chris

MGE MIB related bug
Dear folks, According to mge-mib.c (NUT 2.6.2) LB condition is gained from variable .1.3.6.1.4.1.705.1.5.14.0 (i.e. upsmgBatteryLowBattery.0). The test device of me does not set this variable to yes(1) even if runtime drops below the preconfigured limit. I complained about this at Schneider Electric. They replied that low battery status is indicated by .1.3.6.1.4.1.705.1.5.14.0
