library for creating Opus files?

As you say it's a bit complicated, although oggenc has a lot of extra support for controlling encoder options you

library for creating Opus files?
Which one of the various libraries on xiph.org allow me to create an Opus file? The 3 or so libraries on the Opus download page all seem to be for reading files, converting and/or encode/decode streams. I have device that outputs a stream of Opus 'frames' and I need to save them into an Opus file. -- Tony -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Decoding Opus File in Chunks
I would like to decode an Opus file in chunks (e.g. 16K byte array). Is this possible with the Opusfile library or would I need to interface directly with libogg and libopus? It seems like the Opusfile decoder functions maintain an internal pointer/state for OggOpusFile during multiple calls to op_read(OggOpusFile *_op ...) and a complete byte array of the entire Opus file would be needed. Building opusfile as a shared library
Dear Opus community, I'm trying to build opusfile as a shared (.dll) library on Windows 10 using Visual Studio 2017. I know there are prebuilt libraries, but those are depending on a whole bunch of other libraries and x86 (32 bit) only. Whenever I try to build opusfile, it generates opusfile.dll, which is basically empty (no functions), which makes it unuseable. This is most likely because

Question about FEC and ogg/opus
Hello, We have a use case where we want to record an opus RTP stream to a .opus file. We want to fill in any gaps in the stream, and we also want to take advantage of inband FEC whenever possible. The ogg/opus draft describes[1] how to fill in gaps by generating zero-byte frames, but I do not understand how (and if) FEC can be used. Is this possible, and if so, what is the recommended way of

48kHz
I have been challenged by someone that opusfile's 48kHz most of the time forced resampling but I didn't have good arguments to counter. I've checked the opus-codec.org pages and Monty's pages without finding good arguments. If you encode files to .opus with opusenc and decode with opusfile's api the sampling rate is constantly 48kHz ignoring output hardware isn't it? Is

How to wrap Opus data in an Ogg stream?
Hi. I am trying to understand how to package opus-encoded data in an ogg stream to make a standards-compilant ogg/opus file. Most things are clear, but there is one thing I simply do not understand. What I do understand is that Ogg is based on pages, that each come with a fairly sizeable header (>=27 bytes). Now, I encode with a fairly low bitrate, so my opus packages are <100 bytes long.

Question about libopusfile downloading the last 64K when duration is not needed
I am writing a program that retrieves and plays .opus files over the network. I am using the C# PInvoke wrapper OpusFileSharp, which calls into libopusfile and passes callbacks for read, seek, and tell. I want to enable seeking via the seek callback by not returning -1, but I find that as soon as I do libopusfile requests the last 64K of the .opus file, probably so it can calculate the

Question about libopusfile downloading the last 64K when duration is not needed
Thanks for the quick response. That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't an easy fix, or that I wasn't overlooking something. My scenario calls for very low latency playback with a user being able to jump between many files quickly, or seek quickly. This means I am priming the pump by downloading the first chunk of many files that are likely to be started soon. I was

library for creating Opus files?
Hello Tony, opusenc from opus-tools works for me.. Just tried it successfully on my x86_64 Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 box. I was just able to do $ sudo apt-get install opus-tools $ opusenc music_48kbps.wav music_48kbps.opus I remember also being able to compile opus-tools (git://git.xiph.org/opus-tools.git) some time ago. [PATCH] Support for Ambisonics
Hi Drew, I think the libopusenc patch is better, but there's still a few issues left: 1) The static MAX_PACKET_BUFFER_SIZE value is still problematic because if you link libopusenc with a new version of libopus that supports higher order projection or just more projection channels for order 3, then you will overflow the buffer. I think what you'd want is a _ope_opus_header_get_size() call

Hi, There is no change in the compiler flags. I'm using as it is from the original code. No change in the Makefile and I believe it is using the floating point only by default. We are using 8k samples and mono so the commands is as follows. [root at MEDIA opus-1.1]# ./opus_demo -d 8000 1 opus_encoded_crash.opus opus_encoded_crash.pcm *And segmentation is as below..*. ............ Calling
