Extlinux with guestfish
Hi everyone,
I'm working with libguestfs 1.30.3 on Centos 7 host.
I encountered a problem when I wanted to install extlinux with guestfish as
a bootloader for my guests and I always get this error:

Sorry to ask this (I'm a newly graduated engineer and I new to the
virtualization world), but how can libguestfs do all of the above?, do you
mean it can create all the partitions inside a new lvm volume or a new raw

Xen networking on different vlans
Hello,
I have a xen server that needs to run a domU on a different vlan than
xen''s. I have configured my switch (a cisco catalyst) to tag every
untagged packet to the default vlan (the one in which is dom0) and to
accept tagged packets (for that domU).
I have xenbr0 linked with the eth0, the default network. Then I run

SIP disconnects after 20 seconds behind NAT

I have an asterisk server sitting behind a pfsense firewall, I have
successfully configured pfsense for NAT traversal, and clients from the
internet can call clients inside the network of asterisk, as well as
other clients registered with this asterisk server on the internet.

High load/corrupted indexes after moving mailboxes?

we're experiencing an odd issue after combining two vDisks used for mail
storage into one big new LVM. We've done this in the past successfully and
didn't experience a lot of problems. We
stopped all services (dovecot/postfix) to ensure that mailbox contents
(Maildir)
will not be changed, rsynch'ed the mail to the new disks and restarted

kvm cluster w/ c6
In our development lab, I am installing 4 new servers, that I want to
use for hosting KVM. each server will have its own direct attached
raid. I'd love to be able to 'pool' this storage, but over gigE, I

Asterisk 1.6.1.6 crashing
Hello all,
I have a pretty much standard installation of an Asterisk 1.6.1.6 with no
PRI cards of any type (full VoIP).
Occasionally (it happens every 2 weeks or so), it just stops running. I was
using safe_asterisk but it seems that safe_asterisk did not restart it. I do
have the core dump file at /tmp/core.myservername-2009-10-20T18:36:20+0200
but it seems it's from an earlier crash. When

LSI SATA MegaRaid & Centos 7 build 1511
I don't see any LSI hardware in there, at all. Drivers or no, it should
show up. Are you sure it's plugged in? Do you see the LSI firmware on
the monitor during the boot process?

Meaning of "vlan=" and "name=" in Linux KVM
Greetings KVM gurus,
I am trying to understand a "use case" scenario for the "vlan=n"
option and "name=name" for the "-net nic" and "-net tap" directives.
I have done some search but I have not come up with anything that
sheds any light on the above.
