Samba4: W2k clients cannot set / sync time with samba4 AD DC
As a follow-up to this thread
(https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2013-April/172892.html) I have
created an extra topic, because this is related only to NTP/time sync.
I have done some more tests on this topic, as this really hurts and I
wouldn't be able to migrate to samba4 in productional environment. We
are still using lots of W2k clients which cannot be replaced or
upgraded. Well,

Please Help! Dynamic DNS just will not work: " failed gss_inquire_cred: GSSAPI error: Major = Unspecified GSS failure"
I just can't seem to get dynamic DNS updates working on CentOS 6.4 with
samba 4.0 .tar.gz from samba.org using BIND9_DLZ.
If I run bind 9.8.2.rc1 in debug mode and go to a domain joined windows
client and run 'ipconfig /registerdns' this is what I get in my console:

Apparent BIND problem doing RBL lookups for Postfix
My apologies if I'm posting the wrong place, or am asking a common
question. All my looking so far hasn't turned up anything very useful
in knowing what to look at, or what to modify.

Ouch, using seriously old and EOL Samba versions is not a good idea. I
would suggest you upgrade at regular intervals.

Bind9 doesn't updated - TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure
I've found divergences when I've compared the dns entries on 'king' and
'samba4' servers ('samba4' has the fsmo roles on 'SMB' domain). There are
some 'samba4bkp' entries on 'king' and theses same entries there aren't on
'samba4'. I've understood that I've could to demoting 'samba4bkp' using
samba-tool, but master

Ok. I understand and I think I've forgotten any step when I had mounted
'king'. My bad!
I've set 'king' IP as the only namesever on resolv.conf and I've got a new

Bind9 doesn't updated - TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure
Hi Rowland,
I've done how you have said and I've set nameserver on '/etc/resolv.conf'
file as 'king' IP (10.41.20.67) and add 'dns update command =
/usr/sbin/samba_dnsupdate --use-samba-tool' on
'/usr/local/samba/etc/smb.conf' file. I've still seen samba_dnsupdate fails
on 'systemctl status samba-ad-dc'. Is there other way to check if dns

TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure
Hello,
I still receive this error in my log.samba and when running
'/samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names'. Has this been fixed
completely? Searching through the archives I see this post
https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2013-February/090408.html.
Using Samba 4.1.7 with Ubuntu Server 12.04. My understanding is the
update still succeeds but the error is

Bind9 doesn't updated - TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure
Hi Rowland,
Before to add 'dns update command = /usr/sbin/samba_dnsupdate
--use-samba-tool' I've tried once to run 'samba_dnsupdate --verbose
--all-names' and it has returned me TSIG error again. More precisely, 'TSIG
error with server: tsig verify failure'

Samba 4 kinit: cannot contact any KDC in requested realm // TSIG error
I had freshly installed an Ubuntu Server 12.04lts and Samba 4.0.1 using the

I followed the official HowTo until "kinit administrator at DOMAIN.LOCAL"
It didn't work (cannot contact any kdc...)
