retr errors
My ISP uses Dovecot and I have had an ongoing problem
for a while using several email clients.
Sometimes the response to a retr request is mal-formed. The expected
response
"+OK nnn octets" is not returned. The response looks like it
started somewhere in the message headers.
Sometimes a retry can clear the
problem but I usually need to delete the first message via a putty session.

mdbox expunge purge question
Hi,
I'm testing Dovecot 2.0rc2 with mdbox mail format and I'm not sure
what this exactly means:
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/MailboxFormat/dbox
Quote from wiki page:
=====
Expunging a message only decreases the message's refcount. The space
is later freed in "purge" step. This may be done automatically within
the session or later in a nightly cronjob when there's less

quota warning error with dict
Version: Dovecot 2.0rc3
Hi,
I try to get the quota-warning.sh script working with quota/dict but I
get some errors.
The script looks like:

USER=$2
cat << EOF | /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot-lda -d $USER -o "plugin/quota=dict:user::proxy::quota quota:noenforcing"

I can almost feel Civilization 3 running
But not quite. If I could just get past the sound, I think it might
start and run.
I'm running Wine in desktop display mode, emulating win98. comdlg32,
shell32, shlwapi, and '*' are set to "native, builtin" while the rest of
the DLLs that the default installation names are builtin, native.
I've tried running it with 'winedbg --gdb civilization3', and it always

I have been struggling with LXC libvirt driver. I created LXC container fs
from "yum install" with install root option.
After that edited few files and created special nodes

DHCP with ipv6 tunnel
I'm completely confused here and I'm hoping someone here has a setup
they're willing to share, or help me configure things on my end.
My connectivity is through Comcast, who unfortunately, does not offer ipv6
in my area. My connection goes like this:
Comcast -> Motorola Surfboard Cable Router -> CentOS 6.5 server
The CentOS server is multi-homed and manages the internal

Extracting coefficients of covariates in a LME-model
Hi all,
I have created a linear mixed-effects model using lmer. My dependent
variable is comp.score and my main independent variable is delay.type, a
repeated-measures within-subject variable (2 levels: Synch and Asynch,
order counter-balanced across participants). I had a series of covariates
that were included in the initial model and used a step-wise process to
produce the most parsimonious

setting up postfix
This should be an easy one. I'm trying to get postfix going. I've
never done this before. I followed the directions at
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/postfix. I opened port 25:

Data corruption
We used rsync 2.6.3 on a couple of Solaris 8 machines to update an Oracle
database from one machine to another. Here is the procedure I used:
The source database was up and running so this operation was similar to doing a
hot backup. I queried the source database for a list of tablespace names, and
for each tablespace, I queried the list of datafiles. I put the tablespace in
hot backup mode,

Samba AD not resolving external names
I have just set up a new AD and am having a little success with it, but DNS
resolution is a little slow.
I'm looking into why that is and tried an ns lookup for google.com and got
the answer SERVFAIL on my AD server.
The query was then passed to my next nameserver (google's own dns), which
handled the query.
Is this correct behaviour? I've not seen SERVFAIL before

converting old uucp buffer files to maildir
Hi *,
besides my dovecot maildir structure, that has been migrated from an
Exchange server, I have an even older mail structure in an ancient uucp
style. The program named CrossPoint I used for this isn't wideley known,
but it used so called mpuffer files in a plain text format.
It is the program I still use to write for example this mail.
I wonder if there already exists a program or script

Browser inconsistencies when using Effect.MoveBy()
Hi all!
Brief intro: my name is Cam McVey and I'm a web developer in Glasgow, Scotland.
Now to the point of my first message. I'm trying to use
Effect.MoveBy() to horizontally scroll a table 'underneath' a div. The
idea is that the div is a 'viewer' -- a window that the table can be
seen through. The code below works great with Firefox but not in IE 6
where, after calling
