Cisco 9971
Hi, I am having a weird issue with a Cisco 9971 phone. I managed to get most of it working, including the side car, however one of the issues is that there seems to be some sort of side tone / beep occurring roughly every 13 seconds or so, as if the phone is activated with call waiting. However none of this is activated and is still making the annoying beeping side tone. The phone does require

Dial, record, save to voicemail
I want Asterisk to do the following: - call a voicemail system by dialing a number and playing a DTMF tone - record what is said by the called party and save the recording to a file - end the recording when a particular phrase is said by the called party - put that recording into an Asterisk voicemail box and notify the user I've made a start below (on the easy bit). Any further pointers on

Panic when runing "doveadm mailbox status ... vsize"
I'm using dovecot 2.2.24 on FreeBSD 10.3. I'm working on converting users from maildir to mdbox, for the usual reasons. I have converted some test users and they generally work fine. But when I run "doveadm mailbox status" I get a Panic if I ask for the vsize field (or "all"), but other fields work fine. For example: # doveadm mailbox status -u bubbacheex3

Tainted kernel module?
Hello, Some time ago, I noticed that whilst I had upgraded to Xen 3.1 (kernel 2.6.18-xen), I''d forgot to upgrade the paravirt DomU .cfg kernels from 2.6.16-xen to reflect this. So, I upgraded the DomU kernels & ran into issues with mounting devices, and the ext3 module not being available. After a bit of faffing about, I managed to sort this out and load the ext3 module.

Wanted: UK-specific hardware recommendations (FXO and FXS)
I have a pair of Asterisk servers which are happily routeing VoIP calls. I want to hook one of them to the PSTN. Given that I am in the UK, what is a reasonably easily-available device to provide an FXO interface from a Linux box, with a minimum of faffing around with drivers? Just one line is needed, though in theory two might eventually be useful. My usual white-box hardware suppliers don't

wine-20050211 on SuSE 9.2
I am trying to install wine-20050211 on my second system, which runs SuSE 9.2. After much faffing around I finally managed to download and install bison, which allowed ./config to complete. A warning at the end advised me to install xlib-devel or xfree86-devel. Googling around I found the RPM for XFree86-devel for SuSE 9.1 so I downloaded it and started to install it. Unfortunately, a

vglm(), t values and p values
Hi All, I'm fitting an proportional odds model using vglm() from VGAM. My response variable is the severity of diseases, going from 0 to 5 (the severity is actually an ordered factor). The independent variables are: 1 genetic marker, time of medical observation, age, sex. What I *need* is a p-value for the genetic marker. Because I have ~1.5 million markers I'd rather not faffing

Hi Honies! I'm home!
Many of you may have seen the recent announcement about Danny Windham coming on as the new CEO of Digium. This is one of the most exciting things to happen to Digium and to Asterisk at large. When Danny comes on board, I will be transitioning to the role of Chief Technical Officer (retaining my position of chairman of the board of directors), providing strategic vision for the company as

Problem with absolute symbolic links
I'm trying to synchronize a particularly troublesome directory structure on a SunOS box to a PC. I really want all symbolic links resolved to real files on the PC when everything is done. I can't seem to find any combination of parameters that will accomplish this. It boils down to two problems. 1. It seems like that even if I exclude a symbolic link that is a directory it is not

(R) Using arguments for the empirical cumulative distribution function
Hi, I have just started using R. Now I have the following problem: I want to create an Empirical Cumulative Distribution Function and I only came so far: F10 <- ecdf(x) plot(F10, verticals= TRUE, do.p = TRUE, lwd=3) x=c(1.6,1.8,2.4,2.7,2.9,3.3,3.4,3.4,4,5.2) Now I'd like to use arguments such as xlabs and main but I don't know how to integrate them. I hope someone can help me, I am

[PATCH 0/2] Add API for querying the relationship between LVM objects
Currently I found it it's hard to determine the relationship between LVM objects, by which I mean "what PVs contain a VG?", or "what LVs are contained in a VG?" This simple API exposes that to callers. {lv,vg,pv}uuid: Return the UUID of an LVM object. You can already get this using (eg.) lvs_full, but this is a lot less faffing around. vg{lv,pv}uuids:

ZyXEL 2000w In Call Menu/Hold configs
Hi Everyone, After a fair amount of faffing ive managed to get the 2000w working with asterisk for IP -> PSTN calls (i.e. get the phone to make and receive calls over our BT line). The final solution is to set up outgoing VoIP calls but I now know that without a SIP aware router I can think again! (damn you iptables!) In the mean time I'm trying to figure out why I can't get the
