DRDB Oddness
Hi All,
I''m successfully using drbd on xen dom0''s across a 2 machine cluster.
However I have one domU that refuses to start on one of the machines,
but starts find on the other. Config files for domU and drbd are
identical.
Not sure where to start looking to diagnose the problem
x-host-3:/etc/xen # xm create n-monitor
Using config file "/etc/xen/vm/n-monitor".

KVM raw on DRDB on LVM logical volume?
Hi,
I'm trying to get KVM VMs set up right on top of DRBD, with a dedicated DRBD
mirror instance on top of a dedicated pair of LVM LVs per VM - allowing, for
instance, primary-secondary DRBD assignments at the same granularity as the
VMs. In other words, I want to put VMs in raw format directly to the DRBD
block device, just as they are commonly put to an LV block device, with the
DRBD block

Problems running dbench on 3.3
To test gluster's behavior under heavy load, I'm currently doing this on two machines sharing a common /mnt/gfs gluster mount:
ssh bal-6.example.com apt-get install dbench && dbench 6 -t 60 -D /mnt/gfs
ssh bal-7.example.com apt-get install dbench && dbench 6 -t 60 -D /mnt/gfs
One of the processes usually dies pretty quickly like this:

drdb fails under xen
Under xen, either stock xen-2.0.1+linux-2.6.9 or Fedora''s latest
(2.6.10-1.1109_FC4), drdb (<http://www.drbd.org/>),as soon as I try to
write to one of its devices, causes "Badness" in the kernel and,
ultimately, a spontaneous reboot.
Under non-xen 2.6.10-1.1109_FC4 and 2.6.9-1.678_FC3, drbd works fine.
The error:

distributed mdbox
Anyone know how to setup dovecot with mdbox so that it can be used through
shared storage from multiple hosts? I've setup a gluster volume and am
sharing it between 2 test clients. I'm using postfix/dovecot LDA for
delivery and I'm using postal to send mail between 40 users. In doing
this, I'm seeing these errors in the logs

TCNG issue - parent class restrictions are not honored
Hi,
I''ve been migrating an existing htb-based traffic shaper from a
hideous (I''m allowed to call it that - I wrote the damn atrocity myself)
tc shell script into a TCNG configuration file, and after a few false
starts I think I managed to get the syntax right.
However, during tests it looks like some of the tiers aren''t passing
their restrictions on to lower levels.

Recover botched drdb gfs2 setup .
Hi.
The short story... Rush job, never done clustered file systems before,
vlan didn't support multicast. Thus I ended up with drbd working ok
between the two servers but cman / gfs2 not working, resulting in what
was meant to be a drbd primary/primary cluster being a primary/secondary
cluster until the vlan could be fixed with gfs only mounted on the one
server. I got the single server

Samba as Domain Member Server Authentication Problem
I've been working for hours with Samba on Ubuntu Server 9.10 (Samba
version 3.4.0), trying to get it setup simply as a fileserver that
performs authentication to an NT 4 server (yes, I know, old and out of
date).
After much struggling, I finally realized that my configuration *was*
working when the clients connecting (from XP, and Win2k clients, mostly)
were actually joined to the domain

puppet dashboard inventory
I have a puppet master install which uses puppetdb. I also have puppet
dashboard installed with the inventory service running. I want multiple
puppet masters using a single puppetDB server. Puppetdb is installed on
separate vm.
How can I get the dashboard inventory to use the puppetdb server to get the
inventory records? Where do I configure the dashboard inventory so it uses
puppetdb?

get_peername - start_server vs. connect
Hi,
On windows, get_peername works both with connections obtained
via start_server, and connections obtained via connect.
On linux, get_peername seems to only work with connections
obtained via start_server.
(I''m using svn HEAD.)
I''m wondering which is the intended behavior?
(I realize get_peername is less useful for connections obtained
via connect, since one should already

Anyone have the userguide''s tc script and the corresponding ethloop input files?
I''m trying to get picture from ethloop and gnuplot. But the output seems weird. I still do not know why and want some examples.
Thanks in advance.

Need to unmount an LV from host system
Greetings -
Ok, I made a mistake that I need to fix. Fortunately it is not a
destructive mistake, but I need some advice on how to correct the problem.
CentOS 6.3 host system named Earth
I was creating some new logical volumes within my exiting volume group for
a new virtual machine using the LVM GUI. When I created the LV that I
plan to use for root partition of the new VM (Bacteria) I

can't unmount
I''m running into a situation where I can''t unmount a mounted
snapshot. It shows "busy" even though neither lsof nor fuser show any
open files. Umount -f doesn''t work although umount -l does.
Is there anything else I can do to debug this scenario or to clear the
busy status myself? Or am I down to rebooting each time?
This is on stock ubuntu-10.04, x86.

any ideas on how this is done?

- one app per client?
- one app per domain?

dht_layout_dir_mismatch
Having an odd problem on a new test environment we are setting up for a
partner. And not sure where to look next to figure out the problem or
really understand what the dht_layout_dir_mismatch INFO message is
telling me.
I was turning up a 4 node distributed volume, each brick is its own
19TB ext4 partition on a hardware raid5. Each node has the volume
mounted back to itself at /glusterfs via
