[PATCH net] xen-netback: fix fragment detection in checksum setup
The code to detect fragments in checksum_setup() was missing for IPv4 and too eager for IPv6. (It transpires that Windows seems to send IPv6 packets with a fragment header even if they are not a fragment - i.e. offset is zero, and M bit is not set). [PATCH] Fix checksum errors when firewalling in domU
Another checksum offload problem was reported on xen-users, when using a domU as a firewall: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-04/msg01150.html It also fails without VLANs. The path from dom0->domU with ip_summed==CHECKSUM_HW/proto_csum_blank==1 is broken. - skb_checksum_setup() assumes that a checksum will definitely be calculated in dev_queue_xmit(), but the

UDP checksums broken in Dom0 -> DomU vif transfer
Hello, when I boot DomU which uses DHCP to configure IPv4 address it does never get a lease. The packets travel to Dom0 where the dhcp server receives them, sends a reply, that travels to DomU where dhclient receives it, says the checksum is invalid, and discards it. The problem is documented here: http://old-list-archives.xen.org/archives/html/xen-users/2006-02/msg00152.html

Attempting to checksum a non-TCP/UDP packet errors rolling across screen
Hello, Just did a fresh install of xen-4.0 and using the 2.6.31.13 dom0 kernel. I have 6 linux debian guests running, and on my host console i am getting these errors rolling pretty constantly. "Attempting to checksum a non-TCP/UDP packet, dropping a protocol 1 packet" I tried doing the ethtool -K eth0 tx off and same thing on peth0, using bridged mode for network config. Any tips?

how many people still use NIS?
Hello listmates, I have discovered a very strange SFTP problem which I can not connect to anything but NIS thus far. See here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-server-73/sftp-seems-to-fail-for-nis-accounts-under-openssh-5-x-816020/ http://readlist.com/lists/suse.com/suse-linux-e/38/193419.html Hence the question: is NIS (YP) still in use much anywhere for authentication? Thanks.

Checksumming problem in pv_ops dom0 kernel / netback
Hello, I seem to be having some troubles regarding the latest 2.6.31.6 and 2.6.32.9 Xen dom0 pv_ops trees. Our platform: -Xen 3.4.3-rc3 (also tried 3.4.2 on 2.6.31.6 pv_ops dom0) -2.6.32.9 pv_ops dom0 kernel, perhaps a week old checkout from xen/stable git (can provide changeset if requested). -100+ domU''s, all PV. Ever since we switched to a pv_ops dom0 kernel (we were using 2.6.26

arping between two xen0 works, ping doesn''t (not checksum issue)
I have two Xen 3.0.2 domains, both are using network-bridge, both servers are in the same network. dom0_A, domU_A - first Xen server (dom0 and domU) dom0_B, domU_B - first Xen server (dom0 and domU) I cannot ping or connect from one dom0_A to dom0_B nor domU_B. arping works fine though. I can ping and connect from domU_A to dom0_B and domU_B, though. I have changed

How to know if packet is dropped by kernel for udp checksum mismatch
Hi all, I have a netfilter_queue app which de-obfuscates a already obfuscated udp packets. de-obfuscation process ends successfully but somehow packet is not reaching to the udp daemon. i'm suspecting this is happening because of a udp checksum mismatch. so i'm wondering how can i get logs of packets which are dropped because of udp checksum mismatch? i've heard linux by default

app_rxfax produces "RTP: Received packet with bad UDP checksum"
I have tried to set up app_rxfax to receive faxes over IP. I realise there are mixed stories about how reliable this is at the best of times, but at this point all I'm after is some guidance in interpreting the log below. What does "RTP: Received packet with bad UDP checksum" suggest? Here is the full log: -- Executing SetVar("SIP/0892130888-b27c",

Received packet with bad UDP checksum
I was just on 70minute call (IAX2 -> Internet -> IAX2) and during that time I heard several "pops", or "clicks". Each time it happened, I saw the following message: Aug 19 15:36:36 NOTICE[1173711792]: rtp.c:429 ast_rtp_read: RTP: Received packet with bad UDP checksum Any ideas what causes these, and why they turn in to a "pop", instead of just silence, or a

"Received packet with bad UDP checksum" - whats the real problem?
We have a customer trying to dial through our server, and our server is throwing tons of these log messages: Jul 27 14:21:02 NOTICE[29210]: rtp.c:431 ast_rtp_read: RTP: Received packet with bad UDP checksum Is it pretty certain, that these are caused by a bad or misconfigured router along the path, or something else network-related? As opposed to the SIP hardware itself? The SIP ATA is the same

Firmware update via USB to Sony NEX camera
Hello. I would like to update my newly acquired Sony NEX camera's firmware. The supplied firmware is packaged in a .exe that's listed on Sony's site as compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7. I ran the .exe under WINE, which was set to XP. The program executes and opens its dialog. The first thing it does is try to find the camera, connected via USB, and determine the

Antialiasing plots and text on different devices
I have a question about antialiasing when R generates bitmaps. (This follows a thread on the ggplot2 mailing list.) I mostly use R on Linux, although I sometimes use it in Mac and Windows as well. On Linux, I've found that plotting shapes 15-18 via cairo results in bad-looking output. The points are not antialiased, and they are jagged and misshapen. Plots generated in Windows also aren't

large packet support in netfront driver and guest network throughput
Hi All, I am sure this has been answered somewhere in the list in the past, but I can''t find it. I was wondering if the linux guest netfront driver has GRO support in it. tcpdump shows packets coming in with 1500 bytes, although the eth0 in dom0 and the vif corresponding to the linux guest in dom0 is showing that they receive large packet: In dom0: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr
