Hanging utilities that read /proc
Today I experienced a hanging dom0 and domU. Applications that tried to access
/proc, such as ps, ifconfig, lvdisplay, mdadm all hung after displaying between one
and ten lines of output. ''free'' worked and didn''t output anything weird. Apache
was running in domU and also didn''t respond.
This occurred in both dom0 as well as domU. After some time googling and

SNMP issues since 5.6 upgrade
Hi there...
I scanned the archives and did some Google'ing ... can find some references
to these errors but didn't find a solution. This started when upgrading
some servers from 5.5 to 5.6 release.
It's net-snmp creating a lot of errors in the /var/log/messages suddenly. I
do believe this is only happening on 64 bit installations but not 100% sure
yet...

Tons of SNMP ?errors? in /var/log/messages
I'm running up-to-date CentOS 5 w/ Xen. I'm getting tons (tons = 13787
just yesterday, presumably because I have a monitoring system poll every
5 minutes) of log entries of the following:
netsnmp_assert index == tmp failed if-mib/data_access/interface.c:467
_access_interface_entry_save_name()
and
netsnmp_assert rc == 0 failed if-mib/ifTable/ifTable_data_access.c:209

OT: Feedback Request: HP Laserjet MFD M3027x and Laserjet 2840 on Linux?
Hello all
Sorry for posting my query here, but did not have any success in getting
feedback from linuxprinting.org/ openprinting.org forums.
Planning to buy a new colour MFD or a Mono MFD & a Colour printer, for
small buisiness office use. Could someone give feedback on HP Laserjet
MFD M3027x and Laserjet 2840? Do all functions provided by the printers
work on Linux? Any kinks? Do

understanding an error message
I have a toshiba copy machine that is also used as a scanner.
The scanner can be set to store files to a SMB UNC. So I create a
username/password for the scanner to login with, then configured a unc path
for to store to. All was working well for a while.
Then the scanner stopped storing to the samba share. Initial analysis
seemed to indicate that the username/password was failing.
So I reset it

[PATCH] btrfs-progs: make btrfs dev scan multi path aware
We should avoid using non multi-path (mp) path for mp disks
As of now there is no good way (like api) to check that.
A workaround way is to check if the O_EXCL open is unsuccessful.
This is safe since otherwise the BTRFS_IOC_SCAN_DEV ioctl would
fail if the disk-path can not be opened with the flag O_EXCL set.
This patch also includes some (error) print format changes related
to the btrfs

failure to authenticate from a Toshiba MFD
I have a toshiba multifunction device that can save to an smb share.
For years its been saving to an windows server.
I'm trying to move it to samba 4.x.
My samba 4 is running an samba AD DC on a machine called vc1. The samba 4
file services is running on a system called srv1.
I've made the share on the srv1 smb.conf and have been able to connect to
it using the smbclient tool. I've

Looks correct to me what your saying,
But how are you removing ad access from an AD user?

calculating logit parameters (odd ratio is exactly one or zero)
Dear statistician experts,
Sorry if this is a trivial question, or the old same question (i don't know
what is the efficient key word for this issue).
In order to understand the calculation of parameter of logistic regression,
I did an exercise through spreadsheet following the procedural example
from a literature, or the available spreadsheet (with calculation formula).
I ended up with
