NT PDC to Samba PDC migratio
I thought that it was quite impossible to do that due to the Domain SID
as well as the SAM list that currently Samba is unable to retrieve. (Not
that it would have helped me any, since our old NT 4.0 PDC took a major
Hardware failure.)
How would one duplicate the SID, is that possible with 'smbpasswd -S'
from the new Samba DC?

FW: QoS extension to Net-SNMP
Hi.
I did send this to `jaazz@post.cz'', but I suspect the list is a more
appropriate/useful place for it. It''s a question about Michal Charvat''s QoS
extension to Net-SNMP.
When I look at the MIB entries for the QoS handles, I get something like
this -
enterprises.qos.qosObjectTable.qosObject.qosHandle.0.0 = Gauge32: 0

[Bridge] QoS in bridging
Hi all,
I have got one query on QoS in bridging in Linux
My question is, when we define IP QoS ( using a tc command ) queuing discplines and classses, will these be applicable to bridged frames also ? I mean the packets that take IP path will be sent out according to QoS we defined, but the bridged/ swithced packets will also be sent according to this defined IP QoS classses ?
My doubt is

QoS script for gw without NAT?
I''ll take it from the begining... About one year ago I only had 1 IP and
used wondershaper. It worked great. Now I got /27 (32 IPs) and a gw
computer that talks to two ISPs via a two tunnels. See:
http://www.flashdance.cx/pics/flashdance-LAN.png
I _really_ have a need to do QoS on my connection, for example I host
websites that uses all available upstream. When I download at the same

Future of QoS in Linux
Hi
I''m on my last year and I''m writing my final project about QoS
support in Linux 2.4 kernels and, in general, about QoS in Linux OS.
My professor asked me about future of QoS in Linux. And I asking you :)
What are the difference between QoS subsystem in 2.4 and 2.6 kernels?
What are the future plans for evolution of QoS support in Linux.

looking for input on broadband router with QoS andVPN support
Bob,
Have you looked at any of the products by Zyxel? With QOS, VPN & wireless
support they have:
For ADSL: Prestige 652HW
Firewall/Router: Zywall 10W & 30W
I'll be honest, I havn't used any of these yet. We were looking for similar
products to suuport our VOIP installs. We just ordered some demo units from
Zyxel, we shoul have them later this week. I'll let you know

QoS success with FC3 native 2.6 ipsec
I just wanted to drop a success notice to the list. We always hear the
failures, and rarely the successes! ;-)
After switching from FC1 and freeS/WAN ipsec to the new native linux 2.6
ipsec (ie: setkey-based) my QoS code suddenly started working properly!
Previously, with FC1 and freeS/WAN, I found it impossible and rather
buggy (kernel panics!) to get QoS to make any difference at all. My

QoS in Linux
Hello All, I am interested in QoS provided by Linux, when I looked into IP
header I came accross ToS field, also while going more into detail about
QoS I found that the QoS based on ToS is serviced thru DiffServ which in
turn gives more priority to packets with higher value is ToS field, but I
am not able to understand when we finally call dev->hard_start_xmit
routine of underlying device

QoS + OpenVPN
Hi, I''ve got 3 questions:
1) is it possible to do QoS and OpenVPN? I thought about doing QoS based
on IP, as there''s a couple of servers here that need to be on a higher
priority.
2) can anyone point me to a decent QoS how-to?
3) damn, I can''t remember what this one was. :o)
Cheers,

Configuration of my QoS ruleset (now working fine with u32 classifier)
Hello all,
As I have promised I am sending my QoS rules. This now works fine
with u32 classifier (and parent 1:0 that I could not understand why it
did not worked well before).

Cisco 7940/7960 QOS?
If I relay through my Cisco 7940/7960, does it do QOS, even with a dumb
switch?
I know you can set quality/qos but only if you have a layer2/layer3
switch that supports the tagging. A simple little linksys 5 port switch
wouldn't know about QOS, it'd give everybody equal priority. If a
computer plugged into the phone, and the phone into the dumb 5 port
switch and then to the internet,

ADSL routers with integrated SIP QoS for other devices
Greetings list,
Thanks to all who replied to my thread a few days ago "SIP devices with packet loss tolerance". One of the suggestions that came out of that thread was to replace routers at users' premises with ones that support QoS.
I've used m0n0wall's QoS in the past with reasonable success, but it's quite a bulky and complex setup for deploying to remote sites which

Managed Switches QoS to deal with network bottleneck
Good Day Everybody,

I am in the process of planning a phone system for a small business (15 extensions - 4 PSTN lines [to be connected by ATAs]). The plan is to install an IP Phone everywhere there is an existing computer workstation - using the same LAN for phones and computers.

The layout involves workstations connected to two switches (the unmanaged 'dumb' type) and the switches

QoS and IPSec...
Hi, I have what to me is an interesting issue. I am wanting to
prioritize (QoS) traffic that will be passing through an IPSec
(OpenS/WAN) VPN between two (identical) Linux routers. I know that I
can apply the IPSec patches (1-4) to the kernel and IPTables (if they
are not already applied by now) filter traffic before and after IPSec
encapsulation. My problem is that I don''t know

ISPs with QoS for VoIP?
I'm wondering if anyone knows of ISPs with service that has QoS
features that would be good to use with VoIP stuff. Granted,
the QoS would only be supported as long as you stayed within
their network, but it might be better than nothing.

QoS for lan users ...
Hi
I have Linux box (Debian) that acting as a bridge.
  Eth0 and Eth1 are bridged (br0).
  Br0 have public IP.
  Eth0 connects to the internet.
Eth1 connect to servers in DMZ (with public IPs).

  Eth2 connects my Lan (192.168.1.0/24).
  My connections is 2Mbit/2Mbit.
I''m doing SNAT for my Lan.
QoS on eth0 works fine for DMZ, but is there a possibility to doing
  QoS on
